Rin had been thinking about that girl who let them into their community. It's only been three or so hours since they've arrived. They weren't told the name of this community yet, but Rin honestly couldn't care.

So, to calm her nerves and to also get some of her thoughts to calm down, she had decided to talk to the girl.

As of now, she and the girl were in her room. She was welcomed there by the girl, and they just sat on her bed. They spent a minute with an awkward silence before Rin spoke, "Um, so, what's your name?"

Ah, really sooth, really smooth...

"Evie. Evie Grimes." Evie said than looking at Rin, "You?"

"Rin Dixon, I, uh, I'm fifteen."

"I'm sixteen..." Evie said lowly, god, was talking really this hard? Especially in an apocalypse? Evie didn't have much time to talk to other people as she was always out looking for recruiters or looking for supplies.

"Heh, I guess we're both terrible conversaters..." Rin chuckled, which also had Evie let out a breathy 'yeah'.

Outside the house, a few blocks away were the Dixon Brothers. They were on their own after Rin had run off.

Daryl and Merle, on the other hand, didn't have a good feeling being here, Daryl was concerned for Rin. She's been keen on staying here, Rin thought that they had finally found a permanent home if they were to be accepted into this community.

Daryl was walking around the town with Merle. They kept getting stared at, making them feel more uneasy, Daryl spoke, "Merle, what are ya thinkin'?"

"A plan to get out, little brotha."

"What plan dammit?" Daryl asked.

"I'm thinkin' of one, give me a minute," Merle said with a huff, "Look, just give me a few hours, for now, let's just act as normal as we can."

Daryl nodded, "Rin already loves it here, I don't blame 'er, she's been wantin' a place to stay." He said, a look of sadness in his eyes.

Merle knew this. He, too, wanted a place to call home, all of them did, but this specific place was not it whatsoever. The vibe of this place struck a nerve to the older Dixon.

The very moment they arrived, he just didn't feel comfortable.

He didn't feel protected or even welcomed.

Daryl must've felt that too, but Merle didn't know himself. Rin was off somewhere, and that scared him as she was very incapable of being alone, so he had Daryl look for her while he thought of their next move.

As Merle went off on his own, Daryl was stopped by a man, about a few years younger than him. He had black hair slicked back to an 80s - 90s hairdo. He had stubble, too.

"Hey there, I see your new, who are you?" The man spoke in a deep voice.

"Who are you?" Daryl spoke back.

The man let out a chuckle, "I'm Chuck, quite the name I know, now what about you?"

"Daryl."

Chuck nods, "How are you liking the town?"

"A'right." Daryl said.

Chuck knew Daryl was closed off. It wasn't hard to see that, so he decided to play around with that. Giving Daryl a smile, he spoke: "You're a quiet one, aren't you?"

Daryl didn't speak, making Chuck smile more, "Alright, I'll let you be on your way, I just wanted to welcome you to BrightWood, and to say that you can stay as long as you want." Chuck finished before walking past Daryl.

BrightWood, huh?

Daryl let out a sigh before going off to find Rin, who by now was still with Evie.

Rin and Evie had been talking more comfortably with each other and gotten to know each other.

Evie's father was gone, presumed dead, her older brother Carl was also in the community, and he was always watching out for the walkers and raiders.

"So, what do you think of the town so far from what you saw?" Evie smiled.

Rin smiled back, "I like it here, we've never really had any good experiences with towns or camps like this, though." She explained which had Evie intrigued.

"How so?"

Rin sighs. She didn't want to remember her time at Terminus or the Saviors, but Evie seemed like one not to judge so far, so Rin explained everything - not every detail, of course - but enough for Evie to properly understand.

Evie was shocked by what Rin and her father and uncle had to go through, the fact that Rin almost had her throat slit by cannibals and Merle almost bashed in the skull by Neagan and his bat.

It seemed like Daryl had to suffer the fact that he almost lost two important people and almost had to live with that guilt.

"Well, I'm glad you're here, that you lived, because so far, you're really cool." Evie said softly with a smile.

Rin smiled back with a chuckle, "Goddammit Evie..."

Both girls laughed.

"Come on, I wanna show you something cool." Evie said, not giving Rin a chance to respond as she grabbed her wrist and dragged her out of the house.

Rin and Evie laugh as Evie leads the way to the 'cool' surprise. Soon enough, they arrived at a huge building. It was like a factory almost, but it was just a huge storage building (from what Evie was showing her).

Rin was shown a room with a bunch of weapons and random supplies. There was graffiti on the walls, probably by the people here who did it, and the next room was another storage but with food, Rin asked Evie about the third room but Evie only said that that's where the food sources were.

Rin didn't really know what that meant, which had now made her suspicious but decided to worry about it later.

"So, is this what you wanted to show me? A borin' storage buildin'?" Rin asked with a laugh.

Evie laughed and shook her head, "This is the only way to where I was to show you. One of the rooms of this building is where I spend my alone time."

"So why are you showin' me? I'm a complete stranger."

"Because you seem trustworthy, and I feel comfortable telling you anything."

Wow, no one's ever said that about Rin ever. This put a smile on Rin's face as they made their way through a decently long hallway before Evie stopped at a door that had a sign on it that said 'Evie's room'.

Now, obviously, this wasn't Evie's room, just maybe a private room, as she said to be alone for a while. Rin was feeling nervous for some reason. Maybe it was just her anxiety acting up for no reason, or maybe she was excited.

"Are you ready?"

"Mm, hmm... Kinda nervous heh," Rin said, and Evie chuckled.

"Come on."

Rin watches as Evie opens the door and pulls on Rin's wrist lightly, bringing her in a room that is full of graffiti and comfortable bean bags and a decent amount of comic books and posters of different people that neither girls knew of.

This room looked so peaceful to be in. The walls were an old brown color, but it was barely noticeable either as the posters covered most of the walls in the room.

"Holy shit... Evie, this is the most comfortin' room I could ever be in, I see why you would spend time to yerself in 'ere." Rin rambled, looking around the room.

Evie smiled as Rin appreciated Evie's space.

"I'm glad you like it, I think we could hang out in here whenever we want to talk about something important."

Rin looked at Evie, "I'd like that."
