"Rin, this has to stop. I can't take this anymore! Yer seein' fuckin' walkers as real people and that's just not right Rin! It's not! They're fuckin' dead Rin." Daryl loudly said.
Rin and Daryl had found the old cottage they were sheltered at before BrightWood, and so they decided to stay there again, but with Evie with them.
Rin sighed, Daryl yelling or even just being upset with her was always something she could never cope, "And it fuckin' scares the shit outta me that you think like this and always puttin' yerself around walkers! Ya play with 'em for God sakes!"
"I -"
"No. I'm talkin' ya listen to me. Understood Rin?"
Rin nodded.
Rin looked back at her lap, thinking of Evie. She wanted her there. Though right now she might not want to be next to Rin with how loud Daryl was talking, she could hear what he was saying.
She didn't want Evie to leave them. She wanted her to stay.
No one in Rin's filled Rin with so much joy and emotions that could keep you blushing for hours every time you think of them.
Daryl sighed as there was no getting to her, Daryl tried to keep up with her before, but now he didn't know what to do or what to think.
Daryl didn't want to leave her. She was sick in the head, sure, but that's his daughter. His only reason to keep on going in this world that had turned.
Speaking softly this time, he motions at the door, "Go, go find Evie and stay with 'er. I, I uh, need to think for a while."
"Ya don't hate me do ya? Yer not mad?" Rin asked as he walked to another room.
Daryl shook his head, "No baby, just go find Evie and stay in the yard."
Rin smiled, not just because he wasn't mad at her anymore but the way he spoke. It was like how it was before, 'To stay in the yard', or 'Have fun outside'.
So, with excitement in her eyes, she made her way outside to find Evie, though Evie wasn't in the front, so Rin checked the back, and there she found her.
"Evie!" Rin called out with a smile.
The girl smiled back and walked to Rin, "Hey, sorry about you and your dad. Is he alright with you now?"
"Uh, uh yeah, yeah, yeah, he is, um, but he'll be inside for a while." God, Rin hopes that Evie doesn't ask her.
"So, what was he talking about? With the whole walker thing?"
And she ruined it.
Rin sighs, "What he means... Is, is that I don't think walkers should be killed." She said, waiting for anything bad that were to happen.
Evie didn't make any remarks towards Rin, so she kept going, "I honestly, I don't think walkers do anythin' wrong to be killed. Like at all."
Evie nodded, "Well, I'll tell you this: that was unexpected but I get that you think like that. I'll also tell you: I don't understand why you do but if you keep me safe I don't have a problem with it." Evie said playfully, causing Rin to chuckle.
"I'll keep ya safe Evie! I'll keep my dad safe!" She cheered.
Both girls laughed, and both were unknowingly watched by Daryl who heard the whole conversation.
Daryl had spent that time thinking, he decided to not do anything unless necessary.
He was sad, he was sad because he knew Rin had that motive in her head. To keep him safe, to keep Merle safe. Even Evie - who wasn't even part of their group - she was someone's group and Daryl took her in as well after Evie's community had been run down.
