15. A Busy Man

"Haha, are you surprised? Well, we're a little lucky," Kuroshio laughed.

Nagumo was silent. "...A while ago, there was a case involving first-year Class D and three third-year students. I heard that the other witnesses of that case were Kuroshio Renka, Horikita Suzune, and Matsushita Chiaki. Are you Kuroshio?"

"As expected of the student council vice president. Yes, you're right. Oh, I had expected the possibility of losing points since finding the free product, but the class competition? That took quite a bit of time."

He flaunted his accomplishment.

Although Kuroshio was a prideful man, he knew the place and time for that. Not much different now.

Horikita moved away slightly, as if not wanting to get involved with them both.

Nagumo raised his right hand, signaling him to stop. "Enough. I understand," then, he whispered. "You don't seem stupid, despite being a Class D."

Kuroshio grinned. "No, no, I also have a big handicap for my placement in Class D. It was just a little lucky of me to reveal all this a little sooner than I should have."

Nagumo narrowed his eyes. "Are you saying you can still do this before the beginning of next month arrives?"

Kuroshio nodded without hesitation. "Of course. That would add an extra week at most."

He grinned. "What an interesting student. Kuroshio Renka, right?"

"That's right. But other than my many friends, unfortunately, I probably won't be very interesting, you know?"

"I'll be the one to decide that."

"Well, everyone's view is different."

"Let's see."

He stood up from his seat, returning to the group of quite surprised student council members, except the president Horikita Manabu. The bespectacled man showed a slight interest in Kuroshio, and not even paying attention to his younger sister.

A number of students around them were quietly watching with a tense aura.

A Class D student attracting the attention of a student council member?

Horikita watched Nagumo's departure with a strange expression. Kuroshio couldn't help that, as the man's intentions would be just dubious to someone like Horikita.

"Should we continue our lunch?" Kuroshio asked casually.

Horikita had little hesitation in agreeing. "Yes, we should."
