NICOLE POV

Since the election announcements, things have not been well with Kenzie and Ray. Both of them are persistent and this is making me choose.

I quickly hand out a glucose bottle to Ken.
"Don't overwork yourself, Ken, you can get the extra credits from elsewhere."

"This is the only way that ensures credit a hundred per cent", she states panting loudly and taking a few sips before taking a stance.

"You are not doing another round", I hold her arms.

"Please Nic".
The way her eyebrows furrowed at Ray challenging him to back off, it's evident she isn't stopping any soon. I sigh before letting go and watching her jog the fifteenth lap. I turn to look at the gym section. Ray has also been working out for three hours.

Dramatically, as Ken and I entered the ground, Ray also seemed to walk in. Ever since then her eyes are on him. Even while talking to me, she was looking at Ray and now, while running, as well.  I don't know if it makes me feel better or worse.

After another two hours of running and yoga, Ray as well as both of us head back to the dorms for dinner.

I just want my best friends to get along.

KENZIE POV

I analyse yesterday's training of both of us while rubbing my wrist. Cleaning and exercise have not proven the best for my hands. Maybe I will have to use the bandages and straps for tonight's revision as well.

Opening my locker, I change my books for the next period while reviewing the calculation. His speed and endurance shouldn't bother me and strength isn't something I will challenge. All I need is to ace the fourth category, stability. Balancing is no issue but arm hang isn't going to go well if my hands lose hope.

I shut the door and close the screen when a note catches my attention.
'I know what you did at the mall'. I stare at it for quite some time. The handwriting is rather beautiful, but not feminine.

If this person files a police complaint, we will be expelled and our careers will be ruined.

'See you at the culinary section tonight.'
I hurriedly stuffed the note in my pocket and started walking towards my next class.

---

I keep my breath steady while sneaking towards the structure and looking for another figure. Whoever they are, would not wish good for us.

I quickly hide behind a pillar when a guard walks by and wait patiently. A gush of wind freezes my face. Noticing the slightly ajar door, I make my way in and follow the source of the cooling.

Finally, I spot someone who is currently facing away, wearing an off-white t-shirt and jeans. No accessory apart from a knife bag in their belt is visible.

Slowly turning around, my inviter reveals himself to be a male teenager. If not for the situation, he was another main character from a romance novel that I'd read over summer vacation. Blue-eyed blondie, perfect body. Except his eyes reflect the unripe lemons.

I walk near the counter as he motions for me to stand beside him."What do you want?" I ask folding my arms.

"Straight to the point aren't we. Let's start with ingredients then". I furrow my eyebrows in confusion as he throws a pair of gloves and a cap at me before placing a basket on the countertop.

Washing his hands first, he adorns himself with the hygiene kit. I do the same and follow behind, entering another small room full of colourful vegetables.

"Finding fresh stuff is impossible in a freezing pantry, still choosing the best is possible", he says before making a stop. "Also it depends on our choice of dish. A tomato soup requires...?", he turns to me for an answer. I stare blankly at him before blinking a couple of times, trying to find the answer."Juicy and red tomatoes", finishing for himself, he states.

Placing some tomatoes, which are called 'juicy and red ', he walks around the area and explains about the other vegetables along with filling them in the basket. Garlic, onions, basil...

"Now you." He replaces the full basket in my hands with an empty one. I hesitantly walk around and try following what he said while looking for the best vegetables.

After about fifteen minutes, I walk out with a full basket again and hand it over to him.

I watch him carefully as he inspects the veggies and nods slowly. He gives me a smirk and walks in to place them back."This is enough for today. Don't forget about it tomorrow. Same place same time", he places the basket in its original position as well.

I now furrow my eyebrows again."What do you want? Who are you?".

"You'll see, but right now we have got more pressing matters." He walks off leaving me confused as to what are his motives.

Whatever mystery is around this guy is something I need to be careful of. Because even Luna has nothing to tell, but just a name.

'Aiden Walker.'

AIDEN POV

I place a knife on her chopping board and proceed to wear an apron when she enters the kitchen.

Placing her backpack aside her eyes peek at it and she raises her hands to pick up the knife. Before her fingers could touch the handle, I pulled her by hand and brought her to the sink.

"Wash your hands", I say bending a little, keeping my chest to her back. She shifts forward and complies with the order.

"Do you know how to handle a knife?", I ask throwing a tomato at her. She catches it and shakes her head in a no. Cute.

"Okay. Here, hold it like this. Now stab it". With ease, she slices the tomatoes cleanly. I take her hand and guide her to the other side of the counter like a baby. She repeats the actions, slicing the rest of the vegetables in less than a few minutes. Placing the knife down, she grabs a towel and wipes her hand as her lips lift a little in satisfaction.

With clean hands, she discards the towel with other litter except...
"Cleanliness isn't something you avoid", I wave a leftover onion peel at her like I've been doing for the past few days. She rolls her eyes and starts untying her apron when her fingers stop for a minute. I follow her gaze to notice her eyes on my new knife.

"Go on", I say, resting my lower back on the counter behind us. She looks at me confused for a second and I gesture towards the knife.

She shakes her head in a no and places the folded apron aside. I reach for the bag myself and place it in front of her. She still looks back and forth from the knife to me until I nod at her.

She delicately lifts the bag and examines it for a good minute before pulling the knife out and putting it aside. I watch her with my mouth agape as she continues to look at the bag from the inside.

"You don't want to look at the knife?". She looks at the knife and then looks at me before swerving her head back again.

"200 dollars!", she shrieks. I look to notice the still-hanging price tag that she examines along with the knife after lifting it. "What does this do cut gold?", her mouth now agape like mine with widened eyes. Except my feelings tend towards amusement.

I burst out laughing as she continued to stare at the knife and put it down like it would shatter. I continue my roars until she looks at me puzzled and grabs her backpack before heading out.

"DON'T FORGET ABOUT TOMORROW KEN."
