Chapter8- I Need You Around

3rd person POV:

Johnnie was making his way towards school alone. Jake offered to take him to school in his car, but Johnnie refused because he still felt guilty after the argument, though Jake didn't really seem to care about it anymore, unlike Johnnie, who kept worrying about it.

"Johnnie!"
Jake yelled out while running towards him,
"You won't believe what just happened!"

"What?"
Johnnie asked while slightly tilting his head.

"Chicken butt!"
Johnnie started at him with a straight face, making Jake let out an uncomfortable laugh.
"Im just joking!... uhm, anyways, Tara asked to go somewhere with her, I don't know where but she said that it was a secret!"

"And you're telling me this because?..."

"Just wanted to let you know!"
Johnnie watched as Jake walked away from him.
He always hated Tara,
he hated how loud she was,
he hated how popular she was,
and how rich she was
but what he hated the most was how she would tease him in lunch. He knew it was a way she'd joke but he had told her many, several of times to stop.

He walked towards class and first thing he sees is Tara sitting next to Jake.
Sitting in his chair.
Besides Jake.

He felt an angry fuel rush in his body. He wanted to yell at her to get out of his chair, but he knew that she would just tell him to go sit somewhere else. Johnnie sat down in a different chair which was very far from where they were. A random girl sat beside him and ignored his presence.

"Class, today you're gonna have to work with the person sitting next to you for this project! I hope you all have fun with your table partner!"
Great, Johnnie has to work with this random girl and not with Jake.

"Hi."
The random girl said.

"Hi.."
Johnnie didn't bother to turn his head to look at her. The silence was so uncomfortable, both of them didn't know what to say to break it.

"Sooo, your name is Johnnie right?"

"Yeah.. how you know?.. I mean, I know we have some classes together but we've never interacted."

"Damn. So Steffi never mentioned me to y'all? Fakie."

"Uhh, maybe she has.. I don't know, I don't pay attention to what she yaps about. I always zone out."

"That's fucked. Im Katie, Steffi's twin sister."

"She has a sister?"
Johnnie jaw dropped when he heard her say that.
"Yep."

"But you guys don't look the same!"

"We try not to. Especially me. She's a bitch. Like, a fucking bitch."

They both ended up talking about it for the rest of the class, forgetting about the project they had to do. Johnnie and Katie walked their separate ways, leaving him still in complete shock about what he heard.
"Jake! I need to tell him!"
Johnnie walked around, trying to look for Jake but he had no luck finding him. He soon spotted him walking to class with Tara. Again,

"Jake."
Johnnie said while tapping the shoulder of the taller.

"Waddup."

"Did you know that Steffi had a twin sister named Katie?"

"Uhh, she doesn't..."

"She does! She just told me! Her sister just told me!"

"Katie?... hmmm, oh! Katie! Her! Nah, that's her friend! They like pretending that they are twins! They pulled the same trick on me when we dated."

Johnnie felt really embarrassed, knowing that he had just believed a random person that had claimed that they were siblings with one of their friend's ex.

"Oh.. that's embarrassing.. anyways, can I sit with you in next class?"

"Sorry, ima sit with Colby since Sam isn't here.."

"Oh.... That's alright! I'll just sit somewhere else."
Johnnie said while walking inside the class and sitting in an empty desk. He stared out the window before class started. Jake and Colby sat behind him and all he could was the both of them talk about something that kept making them laugh.

He felt worried that they were probably talking shit about him, though he knew that they'd never do that, he still had the feeling that they were.

"Hi again."
Katie sat beside him, startling him from the sudden appearance.

"Guess you know that I was actually lying to you. It was really funny not gonna lie."

"You made me believe that you were both siblings."

"And that's the funny part! You're so gullible!"

"Im not."
Johnnie angrily turned his head to look at the window again.

"Come on! It was just a joke! You would also laugh if you did that to someone! Hey, how about we prank people! Hmm, we can prank everyone by saying that we're dating! How's that sound?"

"Im not telling people that im dating you. We don't even know each other. We just started talking."
Whole class was just Katie talking about random stuff that didn't interest Johnnie.
The whole day, Johnnie hasn't been able to sit with Jake.
Especially in lunch.
He would either sit by himself in class or with a random person. Once school was over, Johnnie didn't bother to wait for Jake. He was sad about not being able to hang out with him the whole day.
Johnnie was making his way towards his house before Katie ran up to him and insisted on walking him home.

"Why the hell do you even wanna walk me home? You gonna stalk me or somethin?"

"No! I just thought that I should walk you home since we're friends!"

"Yeah.. " friends"."

Once he finally got home, he saw Eric standing im front of the door, smiling at him for the first time in a while.
"Who's that pretty young lady?"

"No one. And don't say that, it makes you sound like a pedo."

"She your new girlfriend?"

"No. We just met."
He growled, slightly pushing Eric away from the door, so he could get in.

"You should invite her over for dinner. Your mom would be happy to know you have a girlfriend."

"She's not my girlfriend! And move! Im trying to get in!"

"Don't talk to me like that. You already know what's going to happen if you continue with that behavior."
Johnnie rolled his eyes while he turned his head and spot Jake walked by.

He walked away and followed Jake wherever he was going.
"Leave that guy alone, go follow the girl instead. He doesn't care about you."
Eric yelled out as he watched Johnnie leave him alone.
"Fucking brat."
He whispered to himself.
