Author's POV:

"Minghao." Her voice trailed off as her eyes locked onto the embodiment of all evil standing before her. "What are you doing here?"

The man upheld his smile, though no happiness reached his eyes. He stood at the far end of the cave, in front of a large wooden door, hands clasped behind his back.

"It's been so long, and that's how you greet a friend? You're too mean to me, Y/N," Minghao said, fake sweetness dripping from his tone.

Y/N grimaced. "We aren't friends, you demon!"

"Ouch." He clutched his chest, mock-stumbling as if in pain from her rejection.

The immortal's face twisted with disgust and anger. Growing irritated, she summoned a tiny, sharp icicle and hurled it towards him at incredible speed.

He dodged it effortlessly, tilting his neck to the side. Minghao shot her a pointed look. "Y/N."

"Tell me why you're here," she retorted, her eyes narrowing into a squint.

"Fine." He dropped his glare and smiled once more, devoid of the very element of joy to make it true. He gestured for Y/N to sit down.

"Just get to the point!" The immortal can't allow to let her guard down. She knows that there's more to this than Minghao greeting her. Oban's presence still hasn't disappeared either -- she could feel it.

Minghao nodded, sensing Y/N's hesitance. "Alright," he began. "I've come to kill you."

..

Kill.

Kill me..?

Y/N stared at Minghao, her heart began to thump in her head. Words were stuck in her throat. Xu Minghao, the villain who was resurrected after death by the hands of Agust D., wanted to kill her.

He continued, his voice a mocking whisper. "But before I do, let me share a little secret with you, Y/N. A riddle, if you will. A means to keep you entertained for when you get out here -- alive that is."

"In ages past, a hero bold," Minghao began, "With his sword of light, his tale was told."
