Abhi: Mujhe aapko kuch batana hai.

Advait, Arvind (in unison): Kya?

Abhi: Vo Rama ka call tha. Vo bata rahi thi ki uske ghar wale puch rahe the ki baithak (further discussion of marriage) kab karni hai? Uncle Aunty ka kehna hai ki kal parso karte hai as Rama ke bade chacha and chachi 2 din baad Mumbai vapas jane wale hai. To unke jaane se pehle aage ki baatein tye kar lete hai. To vo puch rahe the ki kaha karni hai aur kab.

Arvind: Kal nahi kar sakte as Mihir ko bukhar hai. Parso humare yaha karte hai. Unhe kaho ki shaam ko humare ghar milte hai.

Abhi: Ok. Mai abhi batata hu. Papa, varna aap hi baat karo unse.

Arvind: Theek hai mai baat karta hu. Tum call karo.

Abhi called Rama. She picked his call in 2-3 rings.

(Phone Conversation)

Rama: Hello Abhay, bolo na. Kya kaha Uncle ne?

Abhi: Rama, Papa ko Uncle se baat karni hai. Unhe call dona.

Rama: Ok. Wait a minute.

Rama(to her dad): Baba, Abhi ka call hai. Uncle ko aapse baat karni hai.

Prakash [Rama's dad]: Arvindji ko? Ok. Phone do.

Rama gave her phone to Prakash, her father.

Prakash: Hello, mai Prakash bol raha hu. Boliyena.

Abhi: Uncle, mujhe thodi der pehle Rama ka call aaya tha. Usne bataya mujhe ki aap baithak ek do din me karna chahte ho. Usi baare me Papa ko aapse baat karni hai.

Prakash: Ok. Apne Papa ko call do, mai baat karta hu.

Abhi passed his phone to Arvind. Arvind took it and started talking.

Arvind: Ji Prakashji, mai Arvind bol raha hu. Mai ye keh raha tha ki hum parso baithak karte hai as mere chote bete Mihir ko bukhar hai so kal nahi kar sakte.

Prakash: Ji koi baat nahi. Aur Mihir kaisa hai? Theek to hai na?

Arvind: Ji vo theek hai ab. Advait ne medicine di hai. So raha hai. Use weakness rehta hai to kya hum baithak humare yaha kare to aapko koi problem to nahi hoga na?

Prakash: Kaisi baatein kar rahe hai aap, Arvindji? Bacche ki tabiyet sabse pehle aati hai. Hume koi problem nahi hai aapke yaha baithak rakhne me. Aur isi silsile me Dada aur Vahini (elder brother's wife) ko bhi aapka ghar dekhne ka mouka mil jayega.

Arvind: Sahi kaha aapne. To kis vakt baithak rakhe?

Prakash: Ji, shaam ko rakhte hai taaki bacchonki college bhi miss nahi hogi.

Arvind: Theek hai to shaam ko 4 baje?

Prakash: Done. To parso shaam ko 4 baje mai, Vishaka, Dada aur Vahini aapke yaha Rama ke saath aajayenge.

Arvind: Ji, to parso milte hai.

Prakash: Ji jarur. To call rakhu?

Arvind: Ji.

(Phone conversation ended)

They ended the call. Arvind gave back Advait's phone to him. Time skipped to night. Everyone was present on the dinning area having their food except one. Yes he was Mihir as everyone was having tasty food like roti sabji but he was having khichadi.

(Mihir's)

Everyone saw that Mihir is not eating but only staring the food. All sighed. This boy hated bald food, especially kadhi-khichadi. He was a spicy food lover.

Arvind (calm yet sternly): Mihir, tum khana kyu nahi kha rahe ho? Jaldi khichadi finish karo.

Mihir (slowly): Man nahi hai.

Advait: Ansh, dekho tumhe bukhar hai na? To tumhare liye khichadi hi best hai. Agar tumne aaj khichadi khayi na, to kal mai tumhari favourite dish banane ko kahunga. Promise. Par abhi ye khichadi khalo. Tumne dupeher ko bhi sirf soup piya tha. Kal pakka tumhari favourite dish banegi. I promise. But please kha lo. Mere acche baby ho na? Ruko, mai tumhe khilata hu.

Advait said offerring a spoon full of khichadi to Mihir.

Mihir: Papa, bukhar ki bajese mera man nahi kar raha hai khane ka. Mai kha lunga. Mai baby nahi hu ki koi mujhe khilaye. Mai apne haaton se kha sakta hu. Aur koi jarurat nahi hai meri favourite dish banane ki. Mai khichadi hi kha lunga.

Mihir said ignoring Advait completely. He took spoon from Advait's hand and started eating. Advait felt sad and looked down. He loved Mihir so much that he was not able to bare Mihir's ignorance. Arvind thought that Mihir was crossing his limits by talking rudely with his elder brother. As this was not the way he should talk with his elder brother, hurting him.

Arvind (sternly): Mihir, this is not the way you talk with your elder brother. Say sorry to him.

Advait: Papa, it's ok. He is not...

Abhi (cut him off): No Advait. Papa is right. You better don't defend him. This is surely not the way how he should talk with his elder brother. He has no right to hurt you when you love him so much. He is taking you granted. This is not what we taught him. He is being a brat.

Advait: No he is not. He is not hurting me. He is just upset on me hence behaving like this. He has full rights to be angry on me. And it's my duty to pacify him. Aap dono use please mat daatiye.

Mihir (looking down): I'm sorry. Meri bajese aap please mat ladhiye. Mera hogaya.

Mihir joined his hand, praying and saying sorry to the food, he got up. He went in his room hurriedly, looking down with teary eyes. Advait tried to stop him but Mihir ran in his room upstairs and closed the door. He threw himself on the bed burrying his head in the pillow and cried for sometime.

On Dinning Table,
Advait was looking at Arvind and Abhi in disbelief. He too prayed the food and got up.

Advait: Kya jarurat thi use itna sunnaneki? Chota hai vo. Mujhse naaraj hai isliye baat nahi kar raha tha. Aapko pata hai na, jab bhi vo mujhse naaraj hota hai to mujhse baat nahi karta. Phir bhi aap dono ne itna overreact kyu kiya? Aapse baat karna hi bekar hai. Aap dono to sirf bahane dhunte ho Ansh ko datneke. You both never think from his side. Hamesha uske bartav ka ulta arth nikalte ho. You never try to understand him. Anyways, I'm also done. Mai bhi jaa raha hu.

Advait left from there angrily. Arvind and Abhi felt guilty. All sighed and they too prayed the food, not finishing it. They too went in their respective rooms except Revati. First she cleaned the table, stored the food in containers, kept it in the fridge and then went in her room. The thing was that if Mihir didn't ate the food, no one ate it. As no morsel of food gets down their throught untill and unless Mihir had his food completely. And when Mihir ate barely, how could the rest of the family could have their food fully? All went in their respective rooms. Anish went in his and Mihir's room and found Mihir sleeping while his face was covered in tear stains. Anish felt bad seeing his 'chote' like this. He remembered that Mihir didn't took his medicines but let it go as he didn't want to wake him up. He wiped Mihir's tears and caressed his hairs making him fall in deep slumber. He checked the temperature and sighed in relief as Mihir's fever had reduced and his temperature was now just warm. He covered Mihir with duvet and he too laid beside him. After sometime, sleep took over him.
