The college ended. Anish, as usual came into the parking lot with his friends by his side. He was indulged in talking with his friends, who were not leaving him even for a minute. He realised that Mihir had still not come. He checked the timing, 10 minutes to 2. He tensed seeing Mihir still not there. He started going when one of his friends (Amruta's friend, member of Devils group) stopped him.

Raj: Hey Ani, kaha ja raha hai? College to chut gaya hai. Then why are you going inside?

Anish: Are Raj, vo Ansh ab tak aaya nahi hai. Bohot der hogayi still he's not here. I must check.

Another girl from the group spoke.

Ankita: You mean Mihir? Are vo to kabka chala gaya. I saw him going before we came.

Anish (shocked): WHAT? Chala gaya? Par kaise? And how do you know when you were with me?

Raj: Are Anish, Ankita kaha humare saath thi? She came just 10 minutes before. Maybe she saw him.

Anish: Let me call him and check. Vo aise bina bataye kabhi nahi jata.

Ankita: Anish, vo na gusse me lag raha tha. Even he was looking hurt. Chehre se pata chal raha tha that he was not in a good mood. Gusse me hi college se chala gaya. Shayad Ghar Gaya ho.

That's when Anish remembered how badly he had messed up. Mihir left without telling him because he didn't apologize to him for his last night's behaviour, thought Anish. He sighed thinking how hurt Mihir would be.

Amruta: Anish, bura na lage to ek baat puchu?

Anish: Go ahead

Amruta: Tumhare aur Mihir ke bich kuch jhagda hua hai kya? I mean I saw him in the canteen. He was looking at you with hurtful eyes. After lunch maine use dekha. I even tried to ask him but...

Amruta stopped speaking. She made a sad face looking down while she was smirking mentally.

Anish: But what?

Amruta smirked as the arrow hit his target but put on an innocent face as she looked up.

Amruta: Leave it na.

Amruta said not meeting her gaze with Anish.

Anish: Tell Amruta, but what?

Amruta: Chodo na. I don't want to be a reason to drive more drifts in between you two.

Anish: Amruta, just freaking tell me but what?

Amruta: Anish please..

Anish (angrily): Just spill the beans. But what?

Amruta sighed sadly and nodded.

Amruta: I don't mean to put oil in the already burning fire. Anish, please don't scold Mihir or punish him.

She said giving more pressure on the word 'punish him'. Anish frowned hearing it.

Anish: What do you mean, Amruta?

Amruta (looking down): I-i tried to ask Mihir what was wrong with him, but-but he just snapped at me. He shouted loudly asking 'why do you even care if something happens to me? Who am I to you? No one! Better stay away from my business.' He-he even threatened me to stay away from you or he will place a false complaint to the principal saying I and my friends bully him. I swear Anish, we don't. I don't know what's wrong with him but he was behaving really oddly. He-he even pushed me when I tried to justify him.

Anish was way too shocked to hear this. He lost his temper as never in his wild dreams he had thought Mihir to behave like that.

Anish: WHAT? Mihir did this to you? I'll not spare him. How dare he. Let me reach home and he'll surely get his lesson for being so rude and arrogant. No one can spare him from me now.

Amruta: No Anish. No. Please don't punish him. Please. I'm the one stupid who told you. If I knew that you would be so wild hearing it, I would have never let you know it. He's just a kid, Anish. Don't punish him. Please.

Amruta said in her sugar coated voice, still pressuring the word 'punish' so that it gets fixed in Anish's head. And the same happened.

Anish: No Amruta. He deserves a punishment. From last night, he's behaving like that. And being 17 doesn't make him a kid. He's soon gonna turn 18 in three months. And you're at no fault. Indeed you did it right by telling me. He can't just go on being rude to the ones who care for him, like you do. He can't just disrespect you like that. He deserves punishment and nothing else. Let me reach home and he's gonna see the worst. It's beyond bearing now. He just crossed all the limits. Now it's enough.

Saying this Anish got on his bike and drove home. Amruta smirked seeing the angry Anish go away. She prayed to the devil to give some good idea of punishment which Anish could give Mihir. She was happy that she was having her revenge taken by Mihir's own brother on him. She and her friends too left the college. Once they were out of sight, Mihir came into the parking lot but was shocked not finding Anish's bike. The thing was, one professor had asked Mihir to stay back and help him arrange the books. Mihir was helping him so he got late. But he hadn't expected Anish to just go away without even bothering to wait for him or even to call and check him. Once again Mihir's heart burned in pain. He couldn't stop his tears which were ready to flow seeing that his own brother cared less for him. Wiping the tears harshly, Mihir started walking on the road, too messed up to think rationally. He was beyond hurt.

To be continued...
That's it!

Will Mihir forgive Anish?
What will happen when Mihir reaches home?
What will Anish do now? Will he punish Mihir or give him a chance to speak his side of the story?
Will the brothers be united or will they be drifted more?
