The officers walked out of the interrogation room leading a handcuffed Kenzo away. Loren, Kenzo's attorney, followed shortly after. She approached Aziel and Sade. "Detective Alexander, Detective Banks," Loren nodded to each of them. "We had a productive discussion. As yall know, I can't disclose specifics of our conversation, but I want to talk about the case."

Aziel nodded, "What's up?"

"Given the weight of the charges and the strength of the evidence yall gathered," Loren began, "I believe it's in everyone's best interest to discuss the possibility of a plea deal. My client is very concerned about the consequences he's facing."

"He's open to pleading guilty?" Sade asked.

"He's considering all his options, including a plea deal, depending on the terms. He understands the weight of the evidence against him and all the potential risks if he decides to take this to trial."

"That's gon' make things smoother for everybody. What deal you got in mind?" Aziel questioned.

"Depends on what DA is willing to offer," Loren responded. "Reducing the charges to second-degree murder might be a possibility depending on the circumstances. Any deal would need to be something that my client can realistically accept."

"With the evidence, they might be open to it. It's a strong case, but if it spares the victims families from a long trial, it could be worth them considering. If he's willing to plead guilty to a lesser charge, we avoid the time and emotional toll of a trial. In exchange he gets a sentence with the possibility of parole rather than a life sentence without parole or death penalty." Sade shrugged and Aziel and Loren nodded, agreeing.

"Exactly." Loren agreed. "And yall know as well as I do that these trials can be unpredictable. This could ensure a conviction and provide some closure to everyone involved. He's considering it seriously but for him to make a decision, we need to know the prosecutor's position. I'll reach out to the DA to see what they have to say about this."

"Good luck." Sade told her.

"Yeah, Good luck." Aziel added.

"Thank y'all. I'm gonna need it." Loren chuckled nervously, waving goodbye as she turned and walked towards the elevator. As she made her way, Lieutenant Jobe approached Sade and Aziel.

Jobe glanced back at Loren entering the elevator, then looked at Sade and Aziel. "Everyday it's some new fine ass attorney." he said and Sade and Aziel chuckled. "What yall got on the case?"

Sade and Aziel told Jobe everything Loren had told them. Jobe sighed before responding, "Shit, we just here to gather all the evidence and build a case to support whatever direction the prosecution decides to take. The legal side of things is up to the-" Before he could finish, an officer's voice crackled over the radio and Jobe responded to the call, "This is Walker, go ahead."

"There's been a homicide at 13136 Weaver Ave."

Jobe looked at Sade and Aziel as he said into the radio, "Copy that. I'll send detectives over."
