Sade stood at the front door of her parents house, waving goodbye to Iman and Endeyah as they headed towards Iman's car with Solana and Nailea. "Byeee! I know yall gon be drowning in sorrow all week without my presence, but don't worry, I'll be keeping yall in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong until Sunday. Yall got this." she called out. It was Sunday evening, and they had just wrapped up their weekly dinner at Sade's parents home. Every week, Sade's mother and Solana prepared a delicious meal, and Sade, along with Iman and his family gathered there to catch up and just enjoy each other's company.
Solana and Sade's sister in law, Endeyah burst out laughing, while Iman, cradling a sleeping Nailea, glanced at Sade. "You delusional as hell, you know that? We gon' be just fine without you."
Sade rolled her eyes. "Yeah, sure, keep telling yourself that. The first step is always denial." She then turned around and walked back inside, closing the door behind her without locking it, knowing Solana would be coming back inside.
"You wanna go sit in the back?" Cassie asked.
"Yeah." Sade answered as she walked further into the house. Glancing around, she furrowed her eyebrows, not seeing Adonis in the living room where she had last seen him. "Where's Daddy?"
Cassie pointed towards the hallway. "The room."
Sade sighed deeply and muttered, "Ughh. This is what I get for not telling him earlier." She knew that once Adonis went into his room, it was going to take a lot of effort to get him to come back out.
Cassie looked at Sade, her eyebrows furrowing, "What's wrong?"
"I need him to check out my car. The dashboard keeps showing some weird emoji." Sade replied.
Cassie burst out laughing. "Emoji, Sade? Really?"
Sade rolled her eyes playfully and shot back, "Yes, ma. I don't know what it is. I'm just a girl."
Cassie managed to get her laughter under control, a smile still lingering on her face. "He just left to go to the room." She stated, still chuckling between her words. "You better go tell him before he lays down and gets comfortable."
Sade nodded. "You're right." She then walked away, heading towards her parents room. She knocked on the door and heard Adonis's faint response. Opening the door, Sade found Adonis already sprawled out on the bed. Mentally screaming in frustration, she called out, "Daddd."
Adonis glanced over at Sade, "Whatchu want?"
Sade placed her hand dramatically on her chest. "Why do you think I want something? Can't a daughter simply seek her father's attention without being accused of having some motive?"
Adonis chuckled lightly, shaking his head as he saw through Sade's dramatic act. "You always pull that 'Dadddd' bullshit when you want something. Spare me. Whatchu want this time?"
