Jalissa held her phone to her ear, "Bitch, next time you wanna send us to the store to get something for you, make sure you answer the phone. Anyways, They don't have the hair serum you told us to get." She said on the phone with Diamonte, rolling her eyes as she glanced over at Sade, who was browsing through the rows of hair products. Sade and Jalissa had been at the beauty supply store for a while now, picking up a few things Diamonte had asked them to grab. Sade was getting her hair done today, nothing too special, just some layered, loose-curled tape-ins.
"Bitch, who you talking to?" Diamonte snapped.
"You." Jalissa shot back. She then took the phone from her ear, pressing FaceTime, and Diamonte answered, her face appearing on the screen.
"Nah, It ain't me you're talking to. And what do you mean they don't have it? Girl you probably ain't even looking hard enough because they always have that serum." Diamonte remarked.
"Well, they don't have it today." Jalissa turned the camera, showing Diamonte the shelves lined with hair serums and Diamonte kissed her teeth.
Diamonte leaned into the camera, "I know it's nobody but them bitches on tiktok that bought them all. I hate that bitch who came out talking about how good it is. Whatever, Just get that brown bottle of macadamia serum. Get the big bottle too, I don't want no travel-size bullshit."
Jalissa browsed the shelves of serums, her eyes darting back and forth from the bottles to the labels and again back to the various bottles. Her confusion grew as she tried to figure out which one was the Macadamia hair serum Diamonte was asking for. Sade grabbed the large bottle of Macadamia hair serum saying, "It's this one. I den seen you look over it like three four times."
"Oh, my blind ass." Jalissa laughed.
"Don't forget my Chick-fil-A." Diamonte replied.
Sade looked at Jalissa, "You buying it for her?"
"No, I thought you was." Jalissa gave Sade a sideways glance putting the serum in the basket.
"I'm doing both of y'all's hair, so when yall get here my Chick-fil-A better be in yall hands." Diamonte remarked before ending the call. Sade chuckled as they started making their way to the cashier. They loved playing around with Diamonte, knowing because she always did their hair for free whenever & however they wanted, they were more than happy to do anything for her.
As Sade and Jalissa approached the cashier, Sade noticed Hassan, the owner, was manning the register. "Hey, Hassan." She greeted with a smile.
"Good afternoon, Sade." Hassan remarked before turning his attention to Jalissa. His gaze lingered on Jalissa for a moment, and the corner of his mouth tugged into a slight smirk. "And you are?"
Jalissa chuckled, "Boy please. You know who I am. Stop playing." She placed the products on the counter, looking at him with a hint of a smile on her face. Sade chuckled as she pulled out her phone to pay for their items. Sade and Jalissa been knowing Hassan since they were in high school and everytime they came to this beauty supply store he always liked to mess with them.
