1 More Trick (Chapter 7)

"Hey, thanks for letting me spend the night" said Emma

"No problem" said Nancy

"So, how long you been Celerity?" Said Emma

"Since January" said Nancy

"Well, how'd you get your powers?" Asked Emma

"I really don't know, i mean I was just walking in an alley and as I kept walking the alley kept getting darker until this force just knocked me out then I woke up in the alley with my powers." Said Nancy

"How long were you out?" Said Emma

"Like 20 minutes" said Nancy

"Oh, wish I got powers" said Emma

"You probably could, just walk in an alley like me" said Nancy sarcasticly

"Yeah, like that would work. I should probably go home now my mom's probably worried" said Emma

"You want me to walk you home?" Asked Nancy

"Nah, I should be fine" said Emma

"Alright, see you later" said Nancy

"Bye" said Emma

Nancy stayed in her room and finished her assignments for the day while thinking of ways she could find the Red Dragon. She knew he would be somewhere that was abandoned or low profile and she decided that she would look at the old abandoned school.

But in the meantime she needed something to do so she went to the park with Jayden to play basketball. She wasn't great at basketball but she could shoot and play defense while her dribbling was average.

"Jay for three" said Jayden as he shot the ball

"Brick" called out Nancy knowing he would miss

"Man you jinxed me" said Jayden

"Or you just can't shoot" said Nancy

"Atleast I can dunk" said Jayden

"Well atleast I can shoot" said Nancy before throwing up a shot

"Whatever. What time we going out tonight?" Said Jayden

"Probably like 8:30" said Nancy

"Aight. An by the way it's first to 21" said Jayden

Later that day, Nancy and Jayden went on patrol in the city and there was a robbery at the bank. When they got their they saw a group of men and one was armed with a bomb. Celerity and Slingshot knew they had to go about this carefully so they decided to talk to the group of men before fighting them.

"You guys wanna explain the vest" said Celerity taking a step towards the group

"I'd be careful if I were. I don't when this things gonna go off" said the man with the vest on

"Who gave you the vest" asked Celerity now looking concerned

Then, Slingshot motion for the cops to get away from the area.

"The Red Dragon did. He also told me to give this to you." Said the man holding out a yellow envelope

Celerity took the envelope and opened it seeing a note that said

"In 30 seconds your city will be reduced to ashes and you won't be able to do anything about it." -The Red Dragon

"P.S. If you do stop this bomb I'll be waiting back at the powerplant."

Then, she heard the sound of a clock counting down and saw the countdown on the man's chest.

"Slingshot, We need to disarm this bomb" Yelled Celerity

"Where's the panel" said Slingshot

"I don't know, we're not going to figure this out in time" said Celerity

"You're right" said Slingshot

Then everything and everyone stopped. Celerity was also frozen except for Slingshot. Slingshot tapped put a finger on Celerity's shoulder and she was able to move.

"What just happened" said Celerity

"I froze time" said Slingshot

"When could you do that" said Celerity

"I just saw it on this one show where they were in this exact situation. And also keep moving at this speed so you don't freeze up again" said Slingshot

"Okay, So what did they do" asked Celerity

"Uhh, they told their loved ones they loved them but ended up stopping the bomb" said Slingshot

"How!" Said Celerity

"They used some sort of containment device" said Slingshot

"Well, we don't have one" said Celerity

"Wait, we can just throw it in the ocean." Said Slingshot

"Now why would we blow up Niagara Falls" said Celerity

"How would we blow it up, there's a waterfall so it wouldn't have an impact" said Slingshot

"Your right, I'll take the vest and throw it down the waterfall" said Celerity

"Throw it in the lake at the bottom though, not the waterfall" said Slingshot

"Okay" said Celerity taking the vest off of the man

Celerity ran past the borders of the city and ran to Niagara Falls to drop the bomb off. When she got there she carefully went down to the bottom of the waterfall and dropped the bomb in the lake.

She ran back to the scene of the bank robbery and saw that everyone was moving again.

"Where's the bomb" said the man who was just wearing the bomb vest

"In a lake" said Celerity walking away from the man

Then, the ground shook like an earthquake and Celerity knew the bomb went off but some buildings started to fall and crumble but not every building. There was little damage to the city but some buildings north of the city were left damaged.

Celerity and Slingshot then headed to the powerplant where The Red Dragon was waiting for them. They went to the same room that Celerity confronted him in and then Celerity stepped through the door with Slingshot waiting outside.

"Finally. I thought you got blown up" said the Red Dragon

"No, I'm still here" said Celerity

"Well, I'm not going to fight you tonight as I have one more trick up my sleeve" said The Red Dragon

"And what is it" said Celerity

"You'll know when the time comes" said The Red Dragon

Then, he quickly disappeared in smoke leaving Celerity alone in that room once again.

"I can't deal with him anymore. Next time I'm taking him to jail, I'm not gonna give him a chance to talk either." Said Nancy pacing back and forth on a rooftop

"I think you should get some rest. You been working overtime this week" said Jayden

"Yeah but I have to until I can get this guy." Said Nancy

"Whatever man, I'll catch you later." Said Jayden

Then Jayden jumped off the rooftop and into the alley way disappearing into blue sparks.
Nancy decided to go home since she had already got one of the things she was looking for.
