"Tell me…" The path they were on was nothing but dark and muddy. "What has my son gotten into?"
Garmadon's throat was dry, no longer soaked with evil. He was nervous to ask. There was once a possibility that he could have known what his little boy was up to. Once.
But when the evil seeped into his blood- His heart- there wasn't gonna be much of a chance.
"He has… been swallowed up into a can of worms that I don't think can be closed."
"It can't possibly be that bad." Garmadon huffed. With all the things he did as a child, there's no way his precious little bundle of joy could do-
"He's waltzing around Ninjago, with something I believe to be an ancient evil."
Oh.
Oh.
"What do you mean? What ancient evil?" Garmadon wanted to know. No. He needed to know. What evil could possibly be more sick than he was? There was nothing but him to infect Ninjago, so who was taking his place?
Wu stared at Garmadon's conflicted expression, then turned and looked onward into their path.
"Spirit smoke.""It must be messing with your brain." Garmadon spoke. Though his memories are hazy at best -it has been centuries, you know- he remembers his father using spirit smoke. It smelt bad.
"Garmadon, whether you believe spirit smoke is legitimate or not, it doesn't disprove reality." Wu said. "Lloyd is in serious danger."
He couldn't deny that fact. Garmadon knew his son.
Ok, well, he didn't know his son, but he knew that Lloyd was a part of the Garmadon family, and that he was bound to work up some trouble. At this point, it's a family tradition.Garmadon decides not to ask about the Green Ninja for now. It would be better to keep quiet and strike the Green Ninja after he gets back to Ninjago- without Wu defending that pesky destiny dealer.
"Is… is that why you came to find me?" He asked, almost scared to even ask if Wu had alternate intentions.
"Yes." Wu admits.
Words did not leave Garmadon's mouth, just a quiet 'hmph' as he looked forward. The next few seconds are spent in awkward silence. What were they to say to each other? It's been so long…
"We should hurry." Garmadon says, his tone full of warning. "Before the real inhabitants of his realm come out to play."
-
When Lloyd awakened, he was greeted with the faint smell of blood, a terrible migraine, and… the smell of food?
His eyes lazily flutter open as he struggles to stay awake.
He tried to sit up, but a burning sensation ran down the back of his left shoulder. He lets out a painful groan as he flops back onto his bed.
"Ah, so young Garmadon finally decides to wake." A familiar voice taunts.
He tries to sit up again, this time more successfully.
He looks over to see Mystake cooling on his apartment's mini kitchen's rusty stove. She's cooking something he doesn't recognize, it smells like something from another realm, but a part of him craves it.
"Lee!" Little Lloyd screams, running up to Lloyd. He almost jumps into his 'older brothers' arms if it wasn't for Mystakes warning.
"Don't." She says, her voice threatening, scaring both boys. She turns around, holding two bowls in hand. "You could open up his wound, again."
