The palanquin stops and my heartbeat starts racing again. I was anxious and nervous about my future , about my husband, his family and more importantly the kingdom.
Will they accept me as their Queen because I am not a princess from birth. Moreover like every bride I was worried if everyone will like me or not in my new home.
"We are here my Queen " said my husband parting the curtains of my palanquin.He forwards his hand for me and help me get down.
He held my hand and we started walking but everyone was looking at us so I tried to remove my hand from his hold but he tightened it and looks at me witha questionable gaze.
"Ji, Hume sab Dekh rahe hai "(everyone is looking at us) I said with timidness not able to meet his gaze but suddenly I felt my body lighten and I was in the air while I widened my eyes.
He had lifted me up like a feather and I was feeling more shy now that I could hear the giggling sounds of the female servants there.
"Don't be shy Chandra, let everyone know that I had been blessed with a wife like you " he said and now I was so shy that I just snuggled in his neck hiding my red face while my hands were wrapped around his shoulder.
We reached the entrance of the palace and he put me down while I adjusted my veil timidly.
"Welcome daughter I am your mother in law" Said a lady and I immediately touched her feet alongside Maharaj. She patted my head and hugged me while blessing me.
"Now please step inside and bless us with your presence" I felt so emotional hearing her and nodded at her while smiling.
I stepped forward to gently move the kalash with my feet and enter inside. I put my feet in the alta and started walking inside while my feet marked the palace's floor.
After that Rajmata told me to rest a bit and a maid showed me to my chamber.
I entered the chamber and saw the magnificent architecture of the chamber. It was even bigger than my whole house and I was gawking at it lovingly.
"Maharani please take a bath I have already prepared for you" The girl said and I nodded at her.
She helped me take a bath but all the time I was uncomfortable letting the maids help me take a bath when I refused them they said that it was Rajmata's orders so I obliged.
Before arriving here we had already taken a bath near the river to get rid of the blood stains and changed our clothes to make us look like a newly married pair.
I saw a beautiful red lehenga embellished with beautiful white diamonds and I touched it slightly with my hand.
"Yeh kiske liye hai? "(It is for whom?) I asked softly and the girl slightly giggled while saying, "Aap ke liye, Maharani" (It is for you Queen).
I frowned and then realized that now I am the Queen and can wear these cloths. I palmed my head while being embarrassed.
I got ready in that lehenga and it was so heavy that it was almost difficult to move, how do Royal people wear this all the time?
The maids helped me wear the jewellery and I looked at the mirror astonished not believing that it was me. It looked like I am some other girl and not the Chandra everyone knows about.

I entered the Rasoi and Rajmata also arrived.
"Daughter you need to make something for your first rasoi but since you are tired from all the travelling just make one dish" She instructed me.
"Ji Rajmata" I said and she instantly scolded me while saying "Call me maa nothing else".
I nodded at her and she hugged me after which she instructed me what to make and the servants helped me.
"Chandra ab aap jaeye aur Abhyudit ke saath mei bhojan ke liye aajana"(Chandra, you and Abhyudit should come together for lunch ) Maa said and I nodded.
I entered my chamber and nervously started searching for him. He was not there so I entered another room and there he was signing some papers.
I knocked on the door and he said "Yes? ".
"Maharaj you should have lunch now" I said slowly and he finally looked up from his papers and gazed at me with his handsome face.
I instantly looked down because of his intimidating gaze while he sofly said "Come here". I step towards him and stand near his study table while he holds my hand and makes me sit near him on the couch.
"Are you tired" He asked me and I looked at him confused, why is he asking me this suddenly? Still I shake my head in a no.
"Maa had asked us for lunch together" I said and he hummed. He was still staring at me and I was looking down the whole time. After some time he stood up and said.
"Ok let's go", we went to the dining table and had lunch. The whole time I was nervous if he would like my cooking or not, still I remained quiet and observed his expressions.
His face remained expressionless the whole time and then he excused himself to attend some meeting.
He hated it so much that he did not even look at me once.
My hunger went away and I just stared at the food silently thinking I made him upset.
"Daughter don't worry he is always serious in front of the world but in your chamber he will surely appreciate you" Maa said and I smiled at her Halfheartedly.
"Come I will show you around the palace".
After exploring the palace, Maa also told me about some important routes so that I do not get lost.
It had turned past afternoon and I retired to my chamber to sleep a little after the hectic day.
After a bath I lied down and instantly fell asleep. In the middle of my sweet sleep I felt a touch on my head, like someone was carassing my hair.
