"Maa, what is happening?" I asked my mother-in-law as we sat in the royal gardens at evening.
"Beta, hum jante hai aap Dar gai hai, parantu yahi satya hai"(Daughter, I know you are scared but this is the truth).
"Your father-in-law, king Rajeev Harshvardhan was a cruel king and it was difficult for everyone to keep their heads safe.He would kill anyone for any reason, the people were in terror and it was a nightmare. Those twenty years were the worst for our kingdom and were indulged in war almost every year. Our people lived in terror, they could never be happy in those times".
Maa said and I could imagine it already, the horror our kingdom faced and I could see the look of despair in Maa's face.
"I was helpless, being the Queen was already a big thing but I was a powerless Queen. I had no rights whatsoever and no one would even listen to my orders, I was just a name one".
A lone tear fell from her eyes and I could sense that she was hiding a lot in her fragile body.
"But you don't need to worry anymore, my son is the ideal king, I have raised him to be one. Since he was little he had aspired to be one but he became a bit cruel due to his father's behaviour towards him, but he would never hurt anyone for a cheap reason".
I nodded at her and we shared more thoughts, I found out many things about the kingdom and its history.
Apparently, when Maharaj was born, there was a prophecy that run around as, he is the reincarnation of our ancestor, The great king Abhirath Harshvardhan who would change our destiny and would be the greatest of all.
Although, Maharaj does not believe it but Maa does and every other people of the kingdom does.
But for me, I do not know about prophecy but I believe in him as a king and as my husband.
My father-in-law had been away because Maharaj had ordered him to stay away from the kingdom but he returned, he did not redeem himself instead he again did the thing for which he was punished.
But I was worried now as Maharaj was talking to him or should I say punishing him.
I sighed and went to Aadhya's chamber, she had been down since he arrived and I could not blame her, everyone had been like that, even Maharaj was stressed.
"Aadhya?" I called her as I reached the chamber and saw her sitting by the window, seeing me she instantly wiped her face with her palms and I understood she had been crying.
