It was a bit too warm with the sun shining on me as I sat on the bench. I pulled a lilac fan from my pocket and fanned myself to keep cool.

I could feel eyes on me. I turned and looked at the Bridgertons and my cousin.  They all were staring at me. I elegantly raised a brow at them in question.

"Does that dress have pockets?!" Eloise exclaimed as she came over to take a closer look. I smiled at her. And stood up so she could look at it.

"It does indeed. I had them sewn in. Go ahead and reach in!" She immediately reached in and pulled out the compact mirror prototype I was working on. The outside was engraved with a weaving basket type of pattern. She stared at it a bit confused. With a smile, I urged her to open it. Mama Bridgerton came over to take a look as well with the kids surrounding us.

"A mirror!" Violet exclaimed as she looked at it. "It is very beautiful. Where was it bought?" she asked as they all took turns looking at it.

"I had it commissioned. It is one of four designs. I hope that we can use the mirrors to continue a bigger line of different products later on." I said candidly. Violet looked at me then, and I could tell she knew there was more going on with my family.

Anthony came closer and looked at the mirror and was intrigued. " Your family is starting a new business." He stated softly. He came closer and stared into my eyes. The man was so obtuse when it came to his own family, and suddenly, he became more attentive towards me.

I sighed. I motioned him closer and whispered to him so he would not push me in front of everyone. "It is known my father likes to gamble. I am now in charge of a lot of debts to settle. Unfortunately, there is not enough for me to have a dowry. It is my hope that this endeavor is fruitful and that it can be my dowry."

He looked at me and gently took my hand and kissed it.

"I shall help you in whatever way I can, Miss. Penelope." I smiled genuinely at him. I could feel my eyes get a bit teary.

"Someone, please bring me a sugar treat! I do not want to cry even if it is happy tears." Everyone laughed, and Marina brought me a plate with a cinnamon roll.
