Usually, it was a battle to get both her godson and ward to be present at any ball. They both agreed to attend this evening.
She made sure that both men were attired to impress. There was not much she could do about their personalities, but they were handsome.
Lady Danbury held some hope that if deemed handsome enough, perhaps the personalities could be overlooked. After all, she knew both had interest in Miss Penelope Featherington's new business venture.
When she had received the most decedent treats and luxurious box filled with beautiful products with a letter, anticipation filled her. Penelope, the brilliant young woman, provided a detailed booklet going over the products and their uses. Pretty drawings showing how to apply the blushes, tips on where to, and how different looks can be achieved.
She included a set of mirrors and brooches. They had been lined up and placed in little compartments with the names of each design above. Portia, Prudence, Philippa, Marina, and Penelope written in golden ink. Even this had its own booklet with ways to wear the brooches and the mirrors features and uses. It all screamed wealth and beauty.
Very few times had Lady Danbury been at a loss for words. Her godson had looked giddy at seeing the package and was looking over everything as she began to read the letter.
Dear Lady Danbury,
Your opinion is something I truly value. Tis my hope I am not too presumptuous in sending you this box. There are only three of these boxes made. One sent to yourself another to Lady Bridgerton and the last to Her Majesty Queen Charlotte. All three of you are women I admire for your strength, tenacity, and style. It is my wish to further inspire other women to become more confident in themselves and believe in their own worth.

It was then that Lady Danbury knew.
She would support Miss. Penelope Featherington in her endeavors. She made sure to wear the Penelope brooch over her heart and had her godson help her apply the blush (at his insistence) to the ball. She had to say she did look very nice.
"Ambrose you need to catch Miss. Penelope's attention." she said seriously as he gave her a grin.
"I shall do my best, Godmother." he stated with mirth as he helped her into the carriage.
