Unlike the busy atmosphere of Morrison's city, Formation National Park was glistering with natural light and sounds. Birds chirping in the healthy green trees, the wind thrusting against the cooling leaves, and the wet moisture from the cool morning dripping in the grass filled the land with fresh air. Formation National Park was normally visited by nature walkers now and then. Despite the lack of customers, its finances were secured by the absent owner. But thankfully for some, it was a good thing there was a lack of people.
Within the forest of the park sat what used to be an abandoned grey summer home, recently refurbished into a livable state, but not by homeless people needing a home. It housed the Dinosaur Rebellion, young adult dinosaurs who escaped the restraints of Terrarium and now fight to protect humans and dinosaurs who choose to escape the company. To hide, they chose their base in their refurbished home in the park. Occasionally, they are visited by their human allies, Detectives Owen Spencers and Emily Tops. Emily had been a veteran member of the rebellion for a bit while Owen was a recent member. The two detectives were visiting the base today, patiently waiting on the front steps while taking in the fresh air.
Owen took a large inhale and exhaled "Ah, now that's what I call perfection. I can't believe I spent nearly half my life stuck in the city. Caused me to miss all of this."
"Heh, oh yeah, bud. That's definitely a good thing to take in while you're here" Emily spoke in agreement. However, she didn't seem to be as enthusiastic as Owen was.
"Indeed I am because summer's winding down, the fall leaves will be changing soon, and I am ready more than ever to partake in more epic dino-themed missions. That fight back in Two Medicine with the revolution left me with a combatic rush! You ready too, Em?"
Owen couldn't be more than ready to help the rebellion. However, when he turned his question to Emily, she was left unresponsive. Unlike her partner, she sat on the steps with complete fear in her widened eyes.
Emily was never part of the fight in Two Medicine between the Dinosaur Rebellion and the Dinosaur Revolution. During her kidnapping in Bone Cabin Quarry, she was present with the leaders, Alton and Kireina. At first, she thought she could handle a fight with them. But after being mentally tortured, thrown into an overheated steam room, and nearly getting her face eaten off by Alton's massive jaws, that became a traumatic experience that couldn't escape her mind. What made it worse was when Sinor came out of nowhere and bit her leg. She was left stunned as her venomous mouth knocked her out and pushed her to death. Emily hadn't felt death's doorstep before in her life, so the mere mention of a dinosaur-themed mission freaked her out internally.
"Emily? Emily!" Owen's voice was enough to pull her out of her frozen state. Proven when she shook her head, snapping herself back to reality.
"Huh? Oh yeah! Right! I'm like so ready to handle another mission. Just another day on the job" she nervously replied.
"Oh great. Cause I was gonna say, that if my life almost got risked in a dino-themed mission, I'd be DEVASTATED! I can imagine a normal person would be shocked out of their mind if they nearly got their face chewed off. But not us! We faced it and we're totally ready to handle danger that comes our way, 'cause we're tough and we're..." Owen couldn't be more than ready to face danger. But every word he said made Emily sink her head lower and lower until her frown became noticeable to Owen. Seeing her worried face made him realize he was getting carried away with his words. He now saw she wasn't as prepared as he was.
