For the past two days I've been training nonstop to make sure I was going to succeed. And finally, the day had arrived. I trained the whole morning before I relaxed in the afternoon to make sure I wasn't exhausted for my mission.
I would leave once it was dark out so I blended in with the night sky, that would make it easy to sneak into the castle, since my wings made no noise. Once I was inside the castle walls I would head up to Alexander's room and make a quick and easy kill before taking off and heading back home.
It seemed simple enough but I calculated things that could go wrong in my head.
"I could be seen by one of the guards if I'm not flying right. Any kind of wrong move could screw up this entire mission. I have to be extremely careful, this isn't just a normal civilian. This is the crown prince and heir to the Celestia empire." I thought as I finished getting ready.
I was wearing a white shirt that fit my body perfectly, a black corset hugged my waist so no air could enter the shirt and make any noise. I had on a pair of black shorts the length stopping just above my knees. I had a belt around my waist with multiple places to fit weapons. I had my dagger attached to one side, and a small pack attached to the other side that contained a few medical supplies in case I ever got badly injured. I was wearing a pair of light shoes so I could walk and run around without making a ton of noise. My bow and arrow were holstered to my back securely so that I wouldn't lose anything. I was wearing a black hood and a small mask over the bottom half of my face so that no one could see my face. My hair was up in a half ponytail with no the front part of my hair down to cover the sides of my face. My wings were tucked against my back ad I prepared to head out.
I walked quietly out of my house and took off into the air. I flew quickly and quietly over the town until I spotted the castle in the distance. I landed in the trees just inside the castle walls near where Alexander's room was supposedly located. If i had seen the maps correctly his room was the highest up on the north tower, that way he could look out over the whole town.
I checked my surroundings before silently flying up to Alexander's room, I was going to land on the balcony when I noticed a figure walking towards the exit, so I made the quick move to land on the roof and stay out of sight.
I watched as Alexander walked out onto the balcony and looked around for a moment before leaning against the railing.
"Whoever you are, I know your there somewhere." He said casually as I froze.
I watched the prince for a moment in shock. He was wearing a casual white top and black pants. The top part of his shirt was unbuttoned and his Auburn hair blew gently in the breeze. His blue eyes shone in the moonlight.
I debated on what to do, but before I could think of anything I lost my footing on the roof and fell onto the balcony just behind Alexander. I let out a groan of pain but before I could get up I felt his boot against my back pinning me to the ground.
"Who are you, and why are you here." He said bending down next to me while still keeping me pinned to the ground so I couldn't move.
"Give me one damn good reason I should tell you." I spat venomously. My mask and hood were keeping my face well hidden but I kept an eye on the prince to make sure he didn't try anything.
I felt Alexander remove his boot from against my back, but only a few moments later he grabbed me and pinned me against his wall with his hands on either side of my head.
"Let's try this again now shall we." He said with a smirk. "Who are you, and why are you here."
I stayed silent as I pressed my wings closer to me in an attempt to hide them easier. Only this attempt unfortunately didn't go unnoticed by Alexander. I watched as his eyes flicked to my wings and then back to my eyes. His smirk widened as a spark appeared in his eyes.
"Well that's a pleasant surprise. Your a mage aren't you, I thought they had all been killed off by now." He said with a laugh.
I glared at him, the hatred clear in my eyes as I pushed him back so there was a good distance between us. I pulled out my dagger and held it firmly in my hand.
"Don't act like you know me." I snarled. "You know nothing about me or my past. I'm here to do my job, and I'm not leaving here until it's either done, or I have no choice but to leave."
"So I'm guessing your here to kill me." He snorted after recovering from the push.
I watched as he took a step towards me. I quickly put my dagger away before pulling out my bow and and arrow. "Come any closer and I'll shot you."
"I thought that was what you were here to do anyways." Alexander said slyly.
Out of pure anger and spite I fired off an arrow. It headed straight for Alexander but at the last moment he dodged, I watched as the arrow embedded itself into the wall right behind him. I stood frozen in place until I noticed Alexander walking towards me again. I took a few steps back only to make the mistake of walking towards the wall. Because of my own stupidity I had trapped myself against the wall with Alexander way to close to me.
I was pretty close to the balcony, so once I thought I saw a clear opening I made a dash for the open doors so I could take off. Just before I could reach the doors and get away I felt an arm wrap around my arms and waist and another around the front part of my throat. I was dragged to the ground with my back pressed against Alexander's chest. I was about to scream when Alexander's voice sounded next to my ear.
"I'd keep quiet if I were you, wouldn't want to alert the guards that there's an intruder inside the castle now would you. let alone a mage." He whispered, his Auburn hair tickling the side of my face.
I was stuck in a position I didn't want to be in. My breath hitched suddenly when I felt Alexander press his fingers against my throat, not enough to cut off my air supply, but enough to make me dizzy and sick to my stomach. I could barely move since his other arm was wrapped around my arms, and he had trapped my legs under his.
By the time Alexander had removed his fingers from my throat I was to dizzy to even stand straight. He had at one point decided to cut off my air supply so the edges of my vision had turned black. As badly as I wanted to move and fight back. My body was in no state to fight. My breaking point though, was when I felt his fingers gently brush against one of my wings. My face heated up and I immediately threw my head back colliding with Alexander's face.
He gave a cry of surprise and let me go just enough for me to get out of his grasp. I quickly stood up on shaky legs and leaned against the railing. I stared at Alexander for a moment before I took off. I was pretty much recovered and figured I'd at least be safe once I was outside the castle walls. But the next words I heard made my blood run cold.
"Guards! Stop her, she's getting away!" I heard Alexander scream to the guards around the castle. I quickly flew past the walls and out of sight of the castle without looking back. Once I was a good distance away I landed and ran the rest of the way home. Once home I used my magic to hide my wings, I changed and collapsed onto my bed.
Unbeknownst to me, back at the castle Alexander was talking with the guards and his parents.
"I want you to find her and bring her to me, don't kill her. She may be a mage, but she's for me to deal with." He said to the guards before they saluted and walked out of the castle.
"Son, are you sure this is ideal, wouldn't it be better to just find this mage and kill her." Alexander's mother pressed.
"Your mothers right son, mages are dangerous people. It would be best if.." Alexander's dad started to say.
"No! We are not killing her." Alexander said, raising his voice a bit more then he intended to. "When they find her, just bring her to me. I'll deal with her." He sighed before walking to his room.
He walked out onto his balcony and leaned against the railing as he watched the silent town. "You can't hide for long my dear. Once my guards find you, you won't be able to escape me. You'll be mine and mine alone. I won't stop until I have you back in my arms, helpless to fight back. I'll kill anyone who stands in the way if I have to, nothing will come between us." Alexander said with a laugh as a crazy smile appeared on his face. He walked back into his room and grabbed one of the small cloths he had, and dipped it in a bit of chloroform. "This might come in handy when I'm going into town at the end of the week." Alexander thought before he placed the cloth down and decided to finally go to bed and get some sleep. "Can't wait to see you soon darling." He said before falling into a peaceful dreamless sleep.
