Feeling left with no other choice, Em and Jack proceed with this last resort plan.

Mitchell secretly tries to talk Em out of this, explaining how this wouldn't be true to either of them. But Emerson was too busy putting on black lipstick and didn't listen to him, instead he put the makeup down and said "Fuck you, you don't understand how he and I feel!"

"But you don't actually love each other! You're just doing this because both of you are hopeless!" Mitchell explained. "It doesn't have to be this way."

Emerson puts on a black dress and long black gloves. "But it came down to it, didn't it?" Em started to cry, he gritted his teeth but the mascara dripped down his face. Making him look like an abused woman.

He put the wedding viel over his head and clipped on some black clip-on earrings. He looked at the mirror and continued crying.

"Emerson, don't do this." Mitchell said behind him. He put a hand on his shoulders and said. "Look I mean I'm friends with this girl at the Cafe and she-"

"Mitchell, I invited you to this wedding for a wedding for a reason. You're either with me or you can leave."

From then on, Mitchell stayed silent. Not willing to his friend over this.

On the other side, Jack tried getting ready but he too was crying because he didn't imagine his wedding day would come like this.

Soren was there, helping him get ready as well. Soren tried every trick in the book to help Jack feel better, but Jack continued to feel like failure.

"Can you hand me a towel." Jack asked Soren, he hurily handed him one and Jack wiped his tears.

He looked at the mirror and sighed. "It's not as bad as I think? I mean I'm marrying one of my best friends."

"You could look at that way, but Jack maybe you shouldn't-"

"I made my choice didn't I?" He patted down his suit and sighed again. "Besides Em and I are going to make a great couple.....aren't we?"

Soren stayed quiet, he didn't want to comment his true thoughts. Which were that he already could sense disaster between them.

Eventually it came time.

It was a small wedding, neither Jack nor Em invited their families. Considering this wedding was humiliating for the both of them. It was only Mitchell and Soren watching, in a church the was only lit by candles and moonlight. Which would sound romantic but instead just added to the depressing vibe.

Both of them wearing black, as if this was a funeral. A funeral for their former selves.

Mitchell knowing both Jack and Em were religious at least went ahead and hired a priest to unite them.

Jack stood by the altar while he watched Em come down the aisle, his face looking frozen and mascara dripping from his face. Mitchell held his arm and walked him down.

Em looked up and saw Jack, he could tell his face already filled with regret.

Mitchell handed off Em and he walked up the altar, holding black flowers, still looking very upset.

The priest felt uncomfortable and asked if they wanted to proceed or cancel this.

Both Jack and Emerson snap and say "No! We're proceeding." Both of them feeling dark.

Soren commented to Mitchell how depressing this all was, the decorations, the stage, their attire and even the flowers.

The priest began with the witness of the union, and then he went on to help recite the vows. He went to Jack and he replied with "I do."

He then turned to Em and recited, with which he replied while continuing to cry and close his mouth. He whispered "I-I do."

Mitchell and Soren put their hands over the mouths and watch as they put on black rings with a black jewel on them on each other. Not an ounce of silver, gold or any other color could be seen. Just black. To symbolize their defeat.

"You may kiss the bride."

Jack and Em force each other to kiss, both of them now crying while locked in lips.

Mitchell felt really uncomfortable and tried to get up but Soren put a hand on his leg, reminding him to sit down.

They unlock and take a step back. Emerson starts laughing, first quietly and then hysterically. Jack hides his face behind his hands and just feels awful.

The priest immediately leaves, leaving the two on the altar.
