it was just a regular thursday. you woke up, brushed your teeth and got dressed quickly making sure you had everything to head to training. you were on day five of your training for the week and were already so shattered. you quickly fumbled for your keys as you headed down the stairs and unlocked your front door, pausing for a brief moment to send a text to one of your teammates.

Clinton⚽️

you : yeah i'm on my way now, i just need to lock up :)

you smiled as you read her response that she was also leaving and even though you lived in opposite directions it was still a similar distance from the center for both of you, meaning you'd probably arrive around the same time. Grace always kept you calm in training and games, she had to with the level of anger that Bizet managed to get you to reach. you had no clue why she hated you but she really made it clear.

you locked the door before getting in your car and starting it up, the drive was relatively short and since training started early the roads were almost clear. you arrived and locked your car, whilst leaning up against the side you checked your phone seeing another text,

Clinton⚽️ : i see you ;)

you looked up to see your best friend walking towards you with her bag on her shoulder. a smile spread across your face as she spoke, "Good morning! you ready to go in? the strap on this bag is killing my shoulder." she asked whilst rubbing over the strap that was visibly digging into her skin. you shook your head, rolling your eyes in the process. "morning to you too, yes i'm ready to go in but Grace... i've told you so many times to get a new bag, that one's staring to make you go lop-sided" you say straight-faced letting out a slight laugh at the look of concern that had washed across your teammate. she pushes your shoulder as you walk into the training centre.

she pushes open the door to the changing room and you both realise you'd arrived before anyone else. she turns to look at you, placing her bag on one of the benches. "oh my god! that feels so much better" she says, clearly relieved at the lack of pressure on her shoulder before stretching her arms. you laugh before she speaks again, "you excited to see your best friend today?" she asks through laughs as you take your turn pushing her this time, "don't even start that right now. she's such an ass for no reason." you say, slamming your bag into your cubby already annoyed at the thought of Celin.

the door opens again as you're facing the wall, "speak of the devil" grace mumbles under her breath. you didn't bother turning around, there was no need to. you never greeted each other, just argued constantly. you felt her walk closer to you as her cubby was beside yours, she looked you up and down before talking, "good morning to you too. aren't you a ray of sunshine as always?" she said sarcastically before opening her bag. "fuck off bizet. i'm not doing this today." she rolled her eyes in response, loving how angry you got from such a small comment. "Good morning grace" she said over her shoulder, grace smiled slightly before mumbling a good morning in response. They didn't really talk either but they were civil, they got along but she hated how Bizet treated you. she had acted that way since being transferred to Tottenham two years ago.

all the girls had arrived one by one, mumbling good morning to each other and changing before making their way out to the field. Bethany, being the captain, had decided to spend most of the session split into two teams and working on tactics and to your luck Celin was on the opposing team meaning you'd probably leave injured, as always.

It'd gotten to the near-end of your session and you'd made it through with only a few shoves and a couple of near tackles. you were too fast for her and she knew that. It was your last game for the day and you got to your position on the field, feeling her eyes piercing into you. you knew she was going to come after you, she just needed the right moment. A few minutes later you had the ball at your feet and started moving towards their goal, looking for Grace so you could pass it. as your eyes met hers you felt a foot collide with your ankle as you fell backwards and hit the floor. you'd closed your eyes upon impact but as you opened them you had no doubt who had stood on it, Celin stood over you, creating a dark shadow blocking you from the light. "oh, sorry didn't see you." she smirked before moving away. your ankle was hurting too bad for you to stand back to your feet, Bethany and Grace had noticed you weren't moving and ran in your direction.
