Third person
Pov“It's just my aunt, she says she wants to talk.”
Jiyun was trying so hard not to show how anxious she was. She knew they'd be worried about her. It was never good whenever her aunt wants to talk and that's why when she saw the text messages the older had sent, Jiyun got all worked up. She quickly picked up the books she was studying, hastily shoving them into her bag. When that was done she quickly threw it over her shoulder, unbeknownst about the container that had just dropped out.
“Is that good or bad?” Minho tilted his head up, watching the panicked girl as she made her way out.
“Its bad,” Jiyun blurted, pausing her lips when she caught onto what she had just disclosed. “She definitely wants to complain about my grades or something...” the black haired tried covering it up, forcing a pleasant smile to really sell it.
“But your grades are good, no?”
“You ask too much questions, Lee,” Jiyun beamed, ruffling the confused male's hair, quickly leaving before more question could be bombard her way.
“I'll go with her,” Hyunjin shouldered his bag properly, seizing one last candy bar from the bawl– a habit he had picked up from Minho, again. “Bye Hyung.”
Minho groaned loudly when his room door shut quickly behind him. Now it was back to the loneliness.
Jiyun was quick, Hyunjin was now aware of that, he had to jug a bit to catch up with the hasty ravenette. “Whoa, you're fast!” he exclaimed, the moment he caught up with her, his lips stretched into a smile.
“Uh... Thanks?”
“You don't seem alright. Are you sure everything is fine?” the taller cocked his head to the side, watching how her jaws clench each step she took. “Hey, slow down. You're moving too fast!” he was now genuinely concerned. Jiyun was always quiet whenever something was wrong.
Jiyun heaved in a sharp breath. “It's fine, everything is fine,” She smiled, hoping it would ease the taller a bit.
And it did. “Can I hold your hand?” the black haired asked. He could still sense how tensed she was and hoped that would make her relax a bit.
“Sure?” Jiyun was hesitant. “I don't see why not,” an ecstatic Hyunjin quickly took hold of her hand, intertwining their fingers. He would swing them softly, a dumb smile on his face as they walked in silence, until Jiyun was in front of her house.
She bid goodbye to the taller, quickly approaching her door. The ravenette took in a couple breaths to calm her racing heart.
The ravenette slowly pushed the door open, peeking in to check if her aunt was around. Everywhere was neat and quiet, no bottles littering around, no foul smell of alcohol. For a second it seemed like a normal home.
“Work, huh?” Ahra's voice sliced through the silence, making the younger jolt. “Where were you?” Jiyun opened her mouth to retort but was quickly cut off by a grumble. “An honest answer.”
“I was at Minho's.”
“Lemme guess, your ‘classmate’ right?”
The black haired nodded, her grip on the bag tightening, the more she shifted on her weight, nervously waiting for the awkward silence to end.
“What did you guys do?” Ahra crossed her arms, her gaze pinned on the shorter.
“School work-”
“Anything else?” Jiyun shook her head. And Ahra took that as a sign to continue. “Who was that holding your hand? What's with you and these boys? Did you really quit your job just to be around then?”
“I didn't quit, Mr Jung gave me weeks off cause I'm not feeling too well.”
“He should give you a lifetime off cause you'll never feel fine,” Ahra laughed lowly. She didn't necessarily care about what Jiyun did and would only ever ask about the ongoing because her brother had begged her to take care of his daughter. She hated Jiyun a whole lot and blamed her and her mom for his death, but the love she had for him made her consider Jiyun a few times. “I don't want you going over to Minho's or walking with that guy again. I don't want them to get attached to you, so you won't hurt them when you leave. Those poor boys don't deserve that.”
Jiyun swallowed thickly. “I'm not gonna leave.”
