Third person
pov"I love when my little man studies so hard."
Mrs Hwang cooed, ruffling her son's hair. She planted a smooch on his cheek, babying him for a while before leaving, tittering at his little complains. When his mom left, Hyunjin turned to his desk with a sigh, his mind reverting back to Jiyun and how tensed she was by his question. He had to brush it up with a chuckle, prioritizing the thought of probing her about it later. But how could he leave, when his mom was patrolling like a hawk?
---
“Hi Jinnie,” Jiyun ran up to Hyunjin, enveloping him in a tight hug.
This startled the black haired, but it didn't stop him from returning the hug, his arms slowly going around her torso, trapping her smaller frame. “Hi Yunnie, how are you?” he prodded, lightly resting his chin on her puffy bush of hair.
“I should be asking that,” Jiyun broke away from his hold, a brow irked up in suspicion. “Are you alright? How did you get out? I know your mum wouldn't let you go out at night, are you trying to get kidnapped?”
“Jiyun–” The older grumbled, pressing his hand over her lips, an effective way to shut her up. “I'm not a kid, I can go out when I want.”
Jiyun rolled her eyes, biting the ebonite's palm. Hyunjin let out a yell, biting his wrist to surpress the sound. “Why are you here? I know you aren't one to visit a convenient store,” she eyed him skeptically.
“I wanted to walk you home.”
“Don't lie to me, Hwang.”
Hyunjin threw his head back, a cry of agony escaping his slightly parted lips. “Alright fine, my mum has a night shift, so I snuck out and if she finds out I'm dead. Not dead dead but imprisoned dead,” he heaved out a breathy sigh.
“Right, doesn't explain why you're here.”
“I wanted to talk to you...” The raven haired paused. “...without Minho being aware.”
---
“What is it?” Jiyun quickly occupied the empty swing set, ignoring the chirping sounds in the far distance. The two had walked to the playground in their neighbourhood, refusing to hold a conversation on the streets. “And don't give me bullshit, okay Hwangie?” she grinned, swaying her legs up, slowly gaining acceleration.
Hyunjin heaved in a breath. “I wanted to say. . .”
“What? I can't hear you,” Jiyun beamed, swinging higher and faster now. The loud wind whooshing pass her ears, tousling her hair and palming her face, adrenaline pumping through her, making the female jittery.
“I wanted. . .”
“What? I can't hear. . . Whoa,” Jiyun yelled, holding the chains tighter. She never expected her friend to grab the chains, ragging her smooth movements, another effective way to end her joy ride. “Why? I was having fun.”
“And I was trying to talk to you.”
The ravenette sighed, jumping off the set, she took wobbly steps towards the taller, cupping his cheeks with her cold hands, pulling them as she cooed. “Hey, why so serious?”
“No, the actual question is, why are you not serious?” He held her wrist softly, taking her hands away from his flushed face. “Why don't you want us to know? Don't you trust us?”
“What are you talking about? I'm not hiding anything!” Jiyun got a bit defensive, her eyes shaking with fright. “We should head home, my aunt might be looking for me.”
“You said you're always free on fridays.”
“I really want to go home now,” Jiyun shivered, feigning her actions. “I'm pretty cold,” she attempted to leave, her quick escape halted when Hyunjin held her wrist tight.
He pulled the unsuspecting girl into a hug, his tone soft as he whispered. “You're not alone anymore.”
