A Day Out With a Flirty Blond
You woke up to the sun blinding you seeing as your curtains were one of the things you didn't put up yesterday. With a groan, you pulled yourself out of bed and stepped onto the alarmingly cold floor - expected for wooden floors, but you still weren't used to the cold yet. You kept your throw blanket around your shoulders like a long cape, once again trying to bar yourself from the cold air. Then you headed downstairs to see if anyone else was up (likely, seeing as it was about eleven in the morning).
"Good morning..." you mumbled. Your sister was making food while your brother and Mama were busy putting away groceries.
"Finally," your sister grumbled. "Do you want scrambled eggs and toast?"
"Yes, please," you replied, walking through the kitchen to take a seat on the couch.
After breakfast, your mom (who had been busy putting the office together, just like you thought she would) invited you to come along while she scoped the town for jobs. Workaholic, much? Y'all just got there?
You agreed, and as soon as you were dressed the two of you were off. In the end, though, she simply dropped you off in front of a cafe and left you to explore the town. ...Ok.
It was cold, extremely so for you since you were used to upwards of 100-degree heat and not 50s, so you opted to go inside and buy a warm drink so you didn't die. Well, that's just you being dramatic, but it was cold.
The bell above the door rang as soon as you entered, prompting the messy-haired blond boy behind the counter to greet you. You smiled at him and ordered a (W/d). You did catch him saying "She smiled at me! Too much pressure!" while twitching after you paid for your drink.
That's kinda sad, he's kinda cute... you thought to yourself. You waited at a nearby table for your drink to get made, playing Sonic the Hedgehog to pass the time.
Unknown to you, in a booth only a few tables away from where you had taken a seat, a group of boys were boisterous conversing amongst themselves. Well, all except for one.
The blond stared at you intently as you growled in frustration because you couldn't get past this one part of the level. He watched you retrieve your drink, thinking you would sit down again, but was interrupted by one of the other boys calling out to him. He'd been quiet for so long it was concerning; no dirty jokes or comments had been made since they'd sat down - very unlike him.
"Kenny, dude, why're you being so quiet?" The raven-haired boy said, which effectively startled Kenny out of his staring.
"What?"
"He asked why you aren't talking, dumbass," Cartman replied, stuffing his face full of bakery goods.
"Oh," Kenny blinked, then glanced toward the girl again, but she was gone. "It was nothing, but on an unrelated note, I gotta go."
"Unrelated...?"
"Where're you-"
"I'll see you guys later!" He was out the door of the coffee shop before his friends could say anything else.
He was quick to catch up with the New Kid, you, and tapped you on the shoulder. While you turned your head to look at him in surprise, he simply shot you a charismatic smile.
"I couldn't help but notice that I've never seen you around before."
You rolled your eyes. Of course that's how this guy starts the conversation. Nevertheless, you gave him an awkward smile in return as you were a little wary about his intentions.
