Fight Club
It had been about a month since the "incident" at Stark's Pond. And since the night you met Morgan Freeman, you spent a lot of time reading the tutorial book and practicing with your new powers.
You can now proudly say you have a pretty good grasp on them, and are frankly itching to get in on the action that the heroes have been seeing this whole time. Mostly because you had a bone to pick with that kid burning you with his dumb fucking lava Legos, but ya'know. You also just wanted to mess with the Heroes a little bit.
Currently, you found yourself in a long-awaited discord call with your friends from the city.
"(N/n)!!!! I'm so happy you're finally on!"
You laughed into your headset, "It's nice to hear you, too, Courtney." You heard her scoff at your response. "Where's Mitch?"
"He's playing Rust with his friends in another call," Courtney said. "But back to you. Where've you been!? You haven't called once since you moved!"
"Lemme guess, you guys thought I died?" you said with a smile.
"No, Mitch thought you died. I just thought you made new friends and forgot about us." She followed it up by sending a in the chat, just to confirm that she really was upset.
You cringed. It was true, though. While the three of you texted constantly, you hadn't been on an actual voice call with them in ages.
"I did make some new friends, but I could never forget about you guys! Besides, I was busy last week trying to figure out my po- extracurriculars."
"Woah, woah, woah," Courtney exclaimed. "You were about to say something else! And you never had stuff before or after school unless it involved going somewhere with us. Now fess up, bitch."
I might've fucked that up just a little bit, you thought to yourself with a sigh.
Courtney could pick up even the slightest thing with you; it was a testament to how long the two of you have been friends, Mitch included (though he was a bit of an airhead if it wasn't tech-related). That's probably why she was busy whining at you to tell her what you were going to say before you'd corrected yourself.
Exasperated, you groaned, "Fine! I..."
"I don't think your mic picked it up," Courtney deadpanned. In all reality, she knew you were trying to dodge it by whispering.
"I said, I have......."
"(Y/n) (L/n) you had better say it right now or so help me, I will climb on the next plane out there and beat it out of you," she jokingly threatened (you hoped it was a joke).
You groaned in a very exaggerated manner and finally just blurted it out. "I have superpowers!"
You went silent after that, trying to stifle a laugh. Mitch interrupted the silence just as Courtney was about to respond by joining the call and immediately started talking.
"Yoooo!" He excitedly greeted. "Dude you're finally on! What the hell happened? Don't tell me you forgot about us?"
"I got superpowers."
