"You got along with Annabeth pretty well tonight," Kairo said.

I'm lying in his bed watching some YouTube video of a guy making a giant pizza.

"She cool," I said. "She just one of those people that got an inviting soul to her, ya know."

It was rare for me to talk to other people or just let anyone into my bubble; it was only reserved for Kairo. He climbs into his bed laying on his side with his arms tucked under his head.

He's quiet for a beat of a second before saying. "Which means you like her?"

"I wouldn't mind hanging out with her again." I exited out of YouTube. And go to my contacts. I shoved my phone into Kairo's face. He cussed at the brightness of my phone and pushed my hand away.

"Damn, Noah, are you trying to blind me?"

"She gave me her number."

"Why?"

"Why else would she give me her number?" I said in a dumb kind of way that mocks him. Kairo moved closer and climbed on top of me.

"Annabeth seems like she really likes you."

"Like a friend yeah. "

But I did like the way Annabeth made me feel. She was kind of like Kairo with a sunshine soul. That makes you feel safe when you're around them.

Kairo leans towards me, his hair softly tickling my face. He stares at me not saying anything which make me laugh because why the fuck is he just staring at me?

"Would you date me?"

"Yo, what?"

"I just want to know if you would date me."

"If I was a girl then yeah."

He makes a face. "Why the hell would you need to be a girl?"

I put my hands under his shirt and I feel his muscles flex under my touch. I slowly ran my hands up to his chest. "Because if I was a girl I would date you. Which means I like you in that way."

"So you wouldn't date me if you were a guy?"

I touch his nipples. Kairo draws in a sharp breath. I smiled at him before twisting his nipples hard, making him scream.

We wrestled around for a minute before Kairo pinned my hands above my head.

"Cause I'm not gay or anything in between," I answered his question.

His face had a realization moment like oh, right.

He climbs off me and sits on the edge of his bed. Something was wrong. "Hey." I softly said, sitting beside him. "Talk to me." I nudged him on his side with my elbow.

"It's nothing. It was a stupid question to ask, anyway."

"It wasn't."

"Just forget I said anything."
