"Ladies and gentlemen, finally she is here with us for an interview! The one and only Livia Lissens!" Music sounds, the audience applauds and the camera follows me as I step with a smile to the seat, which is right across from the chair in which the interviewer is sitting.
"Livia, tell us, how are you doing?"
"Actually very well! I'm so grateful that I get to do this. My days consist mostly of rehearsing and practicing so I couldn't be happier."
"The Eurovision Song Contest is in a few weeks, are you stressed?""There is definitely a bit of tension because of course I want to make Belgium proud, but I feel a bit more confident every time I practice. I also have the best dancers next to me so it really will be a great show!"
"If you were to describe yourself in 3 words, which one would you choose?"
"Uhm... I think enthusiastic anyway. Perfectionist and also kind of introverted. In the beginning I'm definitely not going to be the loudest person in the group yet!"
The interviewer laughs. "So aren't you stressing about meeting this year's other candidates? There's a pre-party in Madrid tomorrow anyway, right?"
"Yes, right. I'm very excited to meet everyone but I'm also a little scared. I've already heard a few songs from some of the artists and that doesn't make me more confident."
"I'm sure you shouldn't worry! The whole country was thrilled when you announced that you would represent us!"
I smile and look at the audience. "I will do my best not to disappoint you!" The audience calls out to me and gestures hearts with their hands. "Thank you so much for being here today, Livia. The whole country is behind you and your song Ready For It. Have fun at the pre-party tomorrow and we can't wait for May 9!"
Everyone applauds and the music starts again. I thank the interviewer and wave to the fans. I am relieved that this interview is over.
Backstage, my manager, Elio is already waiting for me. "Hey, you did that well. Now we have to go straight to the airport. Elena, Kate and Lucas are already there." Elena, Kate and Lucas are my dancers. But besides that, they have already become real friends.
"Can we stop to get something to eat? I was afraid the audience could hear my stomach growling." Elio smiles.
"I think the others left sushi for you." "Oh my god, I love these people."
