I follow him into a small restaurant. We sit down at the table.
"You know I was thinking about you all night." He looks at me.
The waiter comes over to us. Joost orders a meal to be shared by 2 and drinks.
"You drive me crazy, Livia. I hope you know that."
"Joost... I'm sorry I made a drama during a pre-party."
He holds my hand. "And I'm sorry for stepping away. I really wanted to get to you after that. But when I saw you standing and laughing with the other guys, I got frustrated again."
I roll my eyes. "Joost, you can't get jealous. We're not even together." He opens his mouth but then closes it again.
The waiter brings our drinks.
"I'm thinking of getting my driver's license."
I smile. "That's good! Maybe you could come to Belgium once in a while?"
He nods. "That's the idea."
We spend the rest of the dinner talking about our lives. I forget everything that has happened in the past few days. He still makes me happy. I'm glad we're talking again.
When we are outside again, we walk around for a while. He turns to me at one point.
"I miss you every second you're not with me, Livia. I miss your stubborn behavior, your smile, your cheerfulness and your confidence.
Call me selfish, but I will do everything I can to prove you wrong. I really think we have a chance."
My heart starts beating faster again. "You really think so?"
He takes a step closer. "It's all I want, for you to give us a chance. That you give me a chance. Even if I go to Belgium on foot, I'm done beating around the bush. I want you, Livia Lissens. Ever since you said my name sounds old-fashioned."
He puts his hands on my hips. "I don't give a shit about other people's opinions. You make me happy. In a way that no woman did before."
I can't believe this. I can't hide my smile. "Oh, Joost."
He kisses me before I can say anything else. Again, he smells really good. I feel his smile through the kiss.
"I want you to be my girlfriend."
I have to put into perspective what he just said. "Wait...are you serious?"
He nods. "I've never been more sure about anything in my life than you."
"I would love to be your girlfriend."
He doesn't wait 1 second to kiss me again, and this time we both smile.
"Let me take you to a hotel room."
Not much later, we are in a hotel room. He sits down on the bed and pulls me onto his lap.
"You are so fucking beautiful."
I kiss him hard and his hands sink to my lower back. My skin is on fire. I just want more of him. I take off my t-shirt and kiss him again. It's just the two of us in the world. I don't want to think about others or our responsibilities.
Suddenly, I feel his erection. That makes me even more confident and I take off his t-shirt.
"Honey, I don't know if I'm going to be able to stop if we don't stop now."
I give him a small smile. "I don't want to stop."
He looks at my bra and unhooks it. "You make me crazy." He grabs my breasts and continues to kiss me. This is perfect. I didn't know I needed this so badly.
He lays me on the bed and comes hovering over me. His hands pull my pants off.
"Are you sure? I would totally understand if you want to wait a little longer." I shake my head. I've been waiting for this. The tensions between us over the past few days have made me need him now.
"Do it, Joost. Show me how much you want me as your girlfriend."
He kisses my neck. "Just so you know, I want you as my girlfriend for who you are, not because of your body. But I have to admit I think your body is fucking hot."
He sinks down to my breasts and takes my nipple in his mouth.
"Joost.", my breath gets louder.
"I dreamt of this sound, sweetheart."
And that night I gave in to my feelings for Joost Klein.
