After hearing from Michonne that Glenn and Maggie were taken by Merle. Rick told them to go on as he was not missing Kaia's delivery. Carl looked at his dad. "Why didn't you go?" He asked. "I'll be here for mom."
"I didn't miss out on your birth and I won't miss out on this one." He tells him. "I know you think I should be with them, but my family comes first." They both looked at Kaia as she was sleeping. "You see, I made a mistake with Lori. At one point, I loved her then after you were born, everything changed and Kaia was the one to pick those pieces up." He says. "That's why I'm not leaving her side. She didn't leave mine, so why leave hers."
Carl understood what he meant. He wasn't acting like the bad person himself. Carl walked away as Rick went to Kaia. "Baby, I'm right here."
"Rick?" She groaned. "I think it's time to time the contractions. They feel close."
Rick smiled as he nodded. "Let's start timing baby."
