'you know, i hear that UA is really intense already with their kids. my mom was talking to one of our neighbors and she said that her son comes home exhausted!' y/n stated as she closed her textbook. the two hadn't 'talked' much recently, she assumed it was because of school. 'i'm kinda glad i turned down that offer.'

y/n never saw herself as someone who could risk her life daily for others, even though she always admired the people who did. she did, however, lean towards the business side of the industry since she was introduced to it at such a young age.

so, she declined her recommendation and attended a different hero prep school. while her school is no UA, she could only get in through the recommendation of her uncle (who owned a highly respected hero agency in japan).

'hello?' was he ignoring her?

'you got an offer?'

y/n smiled to herself. there he was.

'it's the nepo baby in me.' kirishima laughed. 'do you know anyone who goes there?' y/n felt her head go fuzzy and huffed.

'okay i guess you can't tell me.'

'that sucks,' y/n could hear the sadness in his voice. 'anyway, i wanted to tell you about my buddy baku bro.'

'baku bro,' y/n snorted. 'hey the name kinda sounds like this family down the block from me.'

'no way!'

'yes way! i'm pretty sure their kid goes...wait.'

unbeknownst to y/n, her soulmate was eager for her to piece two and two together.

'is his name bakugo?'

'it is," y/n could hear the eagerness in his voice this time.

'holy shit, you go to UA?'

'i do!' kirishima said proudly and clearly.

y/n sat back to think for a minute. kirishima grew anxious in the silence.

'hey? mrs. riot? you there?'

'I TURNED DOWN THE CHANCE TO MEET MY SOULMATE?!' y/n yelled, both in her and out loud, which caused her cup of water to fly across her room.

"shit," y/n realized she still needed to work on managing her quirk, which was water manipulation, when emotional.

"SHUT UP I'M TRYING TO TALK TO YOUR UNCLE!" y/n's mom yelled from down the hall.

"SORRY!"

'you okay?' kirishma was laughing, loudly.

'i guess,' y/n sighed and threw herself backward onto her bed. 'so, i'll see you when i watch the sports festival?'

'well let's see if you can figure out which one i am!'

'you have red hair, remember.'

'oh yeah,' kirishima spoke softly. 'well, i guess you'll see me soon enough!'

'yeah,' y/n smiled to herself. 'i guess i will.'
