"y/n! your uncle is at the door! let him in i'm not done cooking yet," y/n's mom yelled.

"i'm going, i'm going!" y/n replied as she made her way to the front door of her house. y/n opened the door and smiled. "gummy!"

"hey kiddo," taishiro came inside the l/n home, hugging his niece once he entered.

"i was half expecting you to not fit in the door," y/n snickered.

"BE NICE!" y/n's mother yelled from the kitchen, causing y/n and her uncle to laugh.

"i burned off the fat before coming here so i could actually join you guys," y/n nodded before motioning for him to sit down on one of the couches in their living room.

"hey, i had a question?"

"ask away," taishiro responded once he sat down in the middle.

"are you looking to take in any interns at this time? i know someone who i think is perfect for you!"

"you aren't trying to sell me on your soulmate, are you?" y/n felt her face get red. "i'm just messing with you."

"i can't believe my mom told you," y/n melted into the couch, covering her face as she sunk lower and lower.

"don't be embarrassed! he seems promising!"

"doesn't he?" y/n perked up.

"he does! i can't lie and say i haven't had my eyes on him," taishiro smiled down at his niece. "but i heard he's already gotten plenty of offers this time around. next time there's an opening, i'll make sure my name's first on the list. i'll keep him on the back burner, don't worry."

"really? that's amazing! thank you, gummy!" y/n hugged her uncle tightly. "just make sure this conversation never gets mentioned.

"what conversation?" taishiro asked once she sat back down. y/n smiled at her uncle and nodded.

"dinner's ready!" y/n's mom yelled from the kitchen.

once the table was set and everyone was served, taishiro mentioned he had an opportunity for y/n.

"i know you don't want to do the traditional hero work, but i would still love to introduce you to the world of management as early as possible. how about you shadow me and my company for awhile?"

y/n's eye's brightened as she looked at her uncle, and then at her mother, who was smiling back at her.

"you knew?"

"you think i'd let him spring this on you before running it by me? of course, i knew."

"so," taishiro turned his attention back to y/n. "what do you say?"

"i would love to!"
