it was a thursday night, 11:27 pm to be exact, and y/n was finally getting ready for bed. it had been weeks since she had the motivation to do much after school, and it had been weeks since she heard from kirishima.
she saw the news, of course, she did. she knew that his class was attacked at the training camp he went to, and she knew his best friend was kidnapped. she also knew that he was one of the people who went to rescue him.
she wanted to talk to him. a text, a thought, a phone call, anything. she knew he would talk to her when he was ready, she didn't want to push him, but it was killing her not to hear from him.
she would give anything to comfort him.
'i'm sorry.' it was soft, y/n almost didn't hear him at first. she hadn't heard him be that quiet in so long.
'oh, eiji, don't be sorry.' y/n felt relieved, even though a part of her ached for the pain in his voice.
it went silent again for a moment, y/n began to wonder if he had gone to bed.
'can i see you?'
'like, right now?' y/n had just about finished her little nighttime routine, she was in her kitchen filling up her water bottle (which was the last thing on her list).
'it can be tomorrow,' kirishima replied quietly. 'but i'm sleeping at bakugo's tonight and i just,' he sighed. 'i wanna see you.'
'was already out the door when you told me how close you are," y/n replied. she wasn't lying, either, she was making her way down the street, her phone flashing light guiding her way to the bakugo residence.
'so am i,' kirishima replied. y/n chuckled softly. she looked further down the block and saw a figure standing in a red hoodie and black basketball shorts. y/n started running down the sidewalk.
'yeah, i see you,' kirishima turned around and saw y/n running. he smiled sadly and fixed how he was standing so he could catch her when she reached him. which he did, hugging her tightly as if she was going to fade away.
"i missed you," kirishima spoke first as he loosened his grip, arms following around his second half's waist.
"i missed you more," y/n put her hand on his cheek and rubbed it softly with her thumb, taking the time to get a good look at him.
even grown in roots and faded red hair, eijiro kirishima still looked perfect.
"i'm sorry for not reaching out," kirishima pulled her in again, hugging her tightly.
"it's okay, you're here now," she rubbed his back softly.
after hugging for a little while longer, kirishima pulled away and looked into y/n's eyes, quickly glancing down at her lips before returning the eye contact.
'can i-' before kirishima could finish his question, y/n closed the gap, kissing her soulmate's lips softly.
"i told you, you don't have to ask," kirishima smiled brightly at y/n before kissing her once more.
