Zevin went back to the bus stop then settled into his seat on the first bus that arrived. He felt a bit shocked after having able to beat down the bully with ease. He knew he was overconfident with things he is usually familiar but that was something new for him.
He didn't give this thought quite an attention after recalling he had to text Sera. As he opened his phone, he was overwhelmed by a number of missed calls and a message.
"I'm worried pa, please let me know where you are."He immediately sent a quick response, "I'm sorry ma, I just ran into a friend. We settled a little business."
In a few minutes, Sera's reply came, "I hope you're telling the truth, Zev, because my intuition tells me otherwise."
Just then, an idea struck him. "Hey, ma?" he texted, excitement bubbling within him. "Since it's the weekend tomorrow, any plans on where we should head out? Your place, mine, or somewhere else?"
Sera just let him off the hook this time and replied with excitement, her voice filled with anticipation as she typed and mumbled to herself.
"How about going to the theaters? It's on me this time, and we can spend the rest of the day enjoying each other's company."
Zevin's heart swelled with joy at the thought. "That sounds perfect," he replied, his smile widening. "I can't wait to spend the day with you, Sera."
The day ended as usual where both Zevin and Sera exchanged thoughtful and sweet messages, happily talking about their promises and aspirations.
When the morning sun poured through the curtains, bathing Zevin's room in a warm, golden light as he eagerly prepared for his day with Sera. Today was the day they had been looking forward to—their movie date.
With a quick shower and a light breakfast, Zevin headed to the usual spot where he got off the bus near Sera's place in Trissa. As he waited, his heart raced with anticipation, every passing moment feeling like an eternity until finally, he spotted Sera approaching.
"Hey, Zevin!" Sera exclaimed, her eyes bright with excitement as she drew near. "I'm so glad to see you!"
Zevin's face lit up with a wide grin as he greeted her. "Hey, Sera! I've been looking forward to today too. You look stunning, as always."
His eyes lit up with joy at the sight of her, his heart dancing with delight as he took in her radiant smile. With a sense of tenderness, he reached out and took her bag from her hands, their familiar routine filling him with a sense of warmth and familiarity.
But Zevin glanced at Sera's outfit, and felt a flicker of concern in his mind. The skirt she was wearing seemed a bit shorter than he expected, and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of discomfort. Pushing the thought aside, he smiled at her warmly.
Blushing slightly at the compliment, Sera replied, "Aw, thanks, Zevin! You're not looking too bad yourself."
They rode the bus to the promised destination, the biggest mall in the city, Stellar Mall. When they arrived, together, they walked towards the theater, their conversation flowing easily as they caught up on each other's week.
Zevin couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness every time he glanced at Sera, his heart skipping a beat at the sight of her smile.
As they approached the ticket counter, Sera's eyes lit up at the sight of the movie poster for the new Disney film Tangled'. "Zevin, can we please watch this?" she pleaded, her excitement palpable.
Zevin chuckled, unable to resist her enthusiasm. "Of course, Sera! I've heard great things about it. Let's go!"
Inside the theater, they found their seats and settled in, the anticipation building as the lights dimmed and the movie began. Throughout the film, they shared whispered comments and laughter, their hands occasionally brushing against each other in the darkness.
As they watched the heartwarming story of Rapunzel and Flynn's challenging love story unfold on the screen, Zevin couldn't help but feel a pang of longing. He turned to Sera, his eyes reflecting the emotions swirling inside him.
"Sera, don't you think it's beautiful?" he whispered, gesturing towards the screen. "I want to be like Flynn, to you. I'll protect you no matter what and grow old together and share a lifetime of adventures with you."
Sera's eyes shone with warmth as she squeezed Zevin's hand. "That's what I want too, Zevin," she murmured, her voice filled with tenderness. "To be by your side through every twist and turn, just like they were for each other."
But as the movie came to an end, Zevin's heart clenched with a sudden fear. "But I don't want to lose you" he admitted softly, his voice laced with vulnerability.
Sera's expression softened, her gaze meeting him with understanding. "You won't, pa," she reassured him, her voice unwavering. "We'll create our own love story, one that's even more beautiful and enduring than any movie."
"Thank you and, I love you ma."
"I love you more."They got up and grabbed their bags. Zevin then said excitedly, "ma, let's spice things a bit."
Sera's face lit up with delight. "I'd love that, Zevin! What did you have in mind?"
With a playful wink, Zevin took her hand and led her out of the theater, their laughter echoing through the empty corridors as they made their way to the nearby arcade.
Inside, they happened to see to Sera's classmates, Don and Dawn.
Sera excitedly called, "Dawn!"
Both of them looked all over the place looking for the familiar voice, when Don caught a glimpse of Sera. His excitement was obvious as he approached.
"Hey Sera! I knew it was you. No other voice cuter than that!" He laughed as he tapped her left shoulder. Only when he noticed Zevin's gaze did he slowly retract and gave Zevin a short wave of his hand.
Sera then teased him and Dawn, "hey, are you two???" With a grin, she placed two fingers meeting in front of her beautiful and smiling face.Dawn said, "Well, let's say, we're going there. But hey, let's keep this a small secret for now okay?"
Sera gave her two big thumbs up reassuring her, "you can trust me!"
Inside, they spent an hour playing games and trying their luck at various challenges. Zevin's competitive spirit emerged as he won a stuffed toy for Sera at the claw machine, his eyes shining with pride as he presented it to her.
"For you, my queen of the arcade," he declared, his voice filled with playful admiration.
Sera's eyes sparkled with joy as she accepted the gift, wrapping her arms around Zevin in a tight hug. "Thank you my king!"
As they were playing, Zevin couldn't help but notice Don stealing glances at Sera and asked her, "ma, does this guy Don, maybe like you?"
Feeling somewhat confused, she answered, "there you are again with your jealousy Zev. Keep that up and I'll put Mr. bear back in that claw machine."
Zevin feigned a smile and said, "forgive me okay." Sera then playfully answered, "alright Mr. jealous, Mr. bear forgives you this time."
