It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him, It's not him.

It can't be him.

Daisy leans against the tiled walls, the coolness of them somewhat relaxing as panic ricochets in her chest. The door shutting sounds like a bullet, and has her feeling like she's in a cage while steadying her breathing only brings more worry.

She flicks the lights off and darkness, black as pitch blankets the room, the absence of light feeling warmer than the sun could ever be. It's safer in dark.

Suddenly she collapses to the floor, crawling beneath the window of the door to hide herself from view, allowing herself a small break to close her eyes before quickly grabbing the iPad and opening a screen before her eyes. Exhaustion and sweat tricks down her forehead as she scrolls through the camera footage, searching and scanning for clues that might not even be anywhere.

Coulson has to know. I should tell him, she thinks, then a horrible thought crosses Daisy's mind. He could be replaced too. I can't tell anyone. I can't trust anyone.

Suddenly, she freezes, a gasp escaping her throat, tears threatening to fall from the corners of her eyes.

One the screen is the horrid image of Fitz's bloody body...

...with Coulson and Mace standing over him.

Daisy cries out softly, covering her mouth and looking away.

"It's agent Fitz, sir." Says an agent thought the security footage.

And for some reason hearing it said out lid makes the pain a thousand times worse.

Coulson looks him in the eye, his hands placed in his hips. Just as a normal Coulson would. "We can see that."

"Davis said Agent Simmons was the only one in here with him."

No...

"Then it's as we feared," crackles Director Mace's voice. "We believe Agent Simmons has been compromised, replaced with an LMD. We need to find her, scan her, and-"

"No, wait." The unknown agent holds up a finger, signaling them to pause. "Look;"

He then peels off a small sample of Fitz's flesh, revealing an organized panel of mechanical work beneath his skin.

"My god," He raises back into his feet in disgust. "Sir, we have to scan everyone."

Coulson and Mace share a glance.

Oh, no. Daisy's mind whispers as she watches LMD Coulson heartlessly shoots the two Agents she doesn't know. Mace roughly kicks the third Agent into the brick wall, and Daisy hears a crack. Coulson attempts a shot, but as runs out of ammo, he flips his gun handle to the front, swinging his arm back and cracked the Agent's skull upon impact.

Maroon blood seeps from the gaping wound in this head, Coulson simply wiping the gore off his weapon.

Shock swirls its way into Daisy's mind as she watched the scene unfold. Droplets of water flow from her eyes, and she squeezes her temple sketch each of her hands, suppressing a sob.

Then Mack walks into the video frame.

"Daisy knows, and she got away." He stares in his usually calming deep voice.

Coulson follows him to the other side of the room. "Damn it. This is not how it was supposed to go. We didn't want bloodshed." He adds, somberly shaking his head, no remorse in his eyes.

"Too late for that now."

"Mack, see if you can patch up Fitz enough so that he can fix himself." Coulson commands, the order sending a shiver down Daisy's spine. "We have to search the base."

"And cut the security feeds." Mace adds.

No- her thought gets cut off as the screen blinks to black. She finds herself releasing a breath she hadn't know she was holding in. Daisy lets the tablet fall to her side as she relaxes her arms, only to tense up after her eyes notice a trail of recent blood leading deeper into the security closet.

A small but distinct noise of something moving from behind the barbed wire fence dividing the room in half.

Daisy flinches as Simmons swiftly steps into the light, a blood covered knife at the ready. Daisy holds up Mack's axe-gun instantly in self defense.

"Get away from me!" Simmons shouts, breathing in noisy gasps of breath between her swelling spit from her already dry mouth.

She killed Fitz.

But it's not Fitz, Daisy's mind confuses itself.

"Simmons," She takes in a shallow breath. "What the literal hell? What did I just see?" I ask at a rapid pace. "What just happened to Fitz?"

Daisy's final question makes her ridged.

"It wasn't him. It's wasn't him!" She repeats, almost as if she was trying to convince herself, too.

She hesitates before responding. "Did you kill him?"

"No, not him." She, again, assures herself more than she assures me. "It wasn't him-"

"Are you a robot?" Daisy questions very carefully. "Because, I just saw a truckload of myself, and Mack's in on it. And Coulson just bashed an Agent's head in and..."

"They were all replaced." Jemma narrows her eyes. "It's not you. It's not you!"

Daisy nods as she speaks. "Simmons, it's me." She attempts to convince Jemma. "What about you? Prove to me you're not a fricken robot! Because it looks like you're malfunctioning."

"No way to prove it." Jemma doesn't lower her knife. "You won't know until they kill you. There's no way to know," she says through clenched teeth, "till they kill you!"

Both of their attentions are sidetracked, and a new form of terror beats in both of their chests as unfamiliar Agents converse behind the door of the security closet.

Daisy's respires quicken in pace as the door handle rattles. "Okay," she extends a hand. "Give me..." she looks up into Simmons' eyes. "Give me your hand. I'll quake you."

"Don't touch me!" Simmons cringes away, her grip on the dagger's handle tightening.

"Give me your hand, I'll quake you!" Daisy raises her voice. "Not to hurt you! Not to hurt you. Just enough to feel your bones. The real bones, and not made of metal."

Simmons shakes her head. "I'm me!" She shakes her head. "I hope," she adds. "I'm not one of them."

"I can prove to you that I'm not one, either." Daisy exclaims. "An LMD wouldn't have Inhuman powers, right?" She points out. "That way we'll both know. We'll both know."

There's a slight pause before Simmons shouts again, "Don't touch me!"

The door handle rattles yet again, and out of fear Daisy grabs her hand and pulls her into a hug where neither of them can be seen. The familiar sound of Daisy's quakes battle the sound of Simmons's pounding heartbeat in her ears as she feels her bones shake from her powers.

"Oh, thank god." Simmons says, and they hug each other tighter.
