(I LOVE THIS RAT HA CHA CHA ALL DA AWAYYYYYYYYYY) (I'm so tired)

Werner Werman was a German rat who lived far from the Inkwell Isles. He grew up in a colony of like a million rats we all believed the outside world was dangerous and humans would kill them. (this is not ratatouille)

During this time humans were the most common creature in the world. Due to this, humans fought in a war against animals and objects in a war which humans won. They kicked out all animals and objects only later giving them better opportunities when an amendment was signed claiming all beings shall be treated fairly by John Hanchick (pun intended). Despite this, smaller cities often treated these beings as low-lives, including rats. Rats often made a living stealing due to this.

Werner's colony knew this story all too well. Convinced the world was heartless, they told their children to never go out there lest they want to lose their one life.  (this is dramatic)  But Werner was not like other rats. (lol) He didn't want to have a common, low-paying, rat job where the world would just continue to dismiss rats as nothing, so he dreamed of becoming a Marine. His colony absolutely hated this idea, thinking it was another just like his stupid inventions. "There's never been a rat in the military, and for good reasons!" When he asked his family for support, they denied it with remarks of him "never being good enough let alone strong enough". Werner eventually grew tired of the colony and, knowing they would kick him out anyways, he snuck away and didn't turn back. After struggling to find a home and food, he finally enlisted in the Marine Corps.

I would love to tell you things get better from here, but they don't ):

Werner was prepared for any trouble to fight him. Or at least he thought. The first day was chaos. Loud, messy, chaos far beyond what he imagined. Werner himself was yelled at basically every five seconds for what he thought were small mistakes. He was mocked by fellow soldiers for his failures and sometimes even his race. Werner wanted to give up.

He was tired.

He was hungry.

He was weak.

He was a failure.

He was ready to give up.

And he almost did. But then he remembered that he had nothing to lose. He remembered it was his dream. He remembered the disappointed faces he wanted to prove wrong. And he got up and continued like the strong rat no one knew he was. (NAW I'M KIDDING HE MADE A DEAL WITH SATAN)

The Devil appeared before his eyes in a somehow empty room. The Devil said that he felt Werner's weakness and struggle and willingly offered strength beyond compare for Werner's soul. Werner remembered his struggle and the disappointment. He remembered his dreams and wishes. The Devil held out his hand, feeling high with the excitement of attaining such a special soul (like the snake he is), and Werner shook with anticipation.

And in a crazy turn of events you totally didn't see coming, he went to be top of his class. (or whatever that is in Marine Corps terms) He moved up to the rank of General and so many finally began to respect him as the first rat military figure. He went on to fight and win many wars which allowed animals and objects to be at peace all over the world. After a long while of fighting, he retired to the Inkwell Isles.

Werner found a small red house perfect for a rat like him. He could invent his weird contraptions endlessly, and he had food beyond imaginable for a rat.

Werner had no regrets with his life.

But then he realized that the Devil had scammed him. The Devil didn't give him strength, but a petty, meaningless handshake that made Werner think he had a chance. And now that same person was going to take his soul as payment for the exchange, if you could even call it one.

He was foolish.

He was regretful.

He was helpless.

So he began to work on something to save his soul.

The closest he got was a robotic cat that would give the illusion of his own death before two collectors came for his debt. (guess who)

(This was so much fun to write. (: I hope you liked it.)
