The Devil appeared inside the chef's bakery and looked around for the chef. But he was nowhere to be found. Instead, there was a small trap door with a ladder leading somewhere dark. The Devil climbed down the ladder with his pitchfork in hand, which made it very hard to climb. At the end of the ladder, there was a long hallway that looked like a dungeon. At the end of the hall, there was a large storage room and, lo and behold, there was the chef with an insane look in his eyes. He was mumbling strange things to himself.

"I need it. Once I have it, I will no longer be mocked. I will be powerful and they will fear me! I just need those ingredients." The chef said in a voice that the Devil thought couldn't get any deeper. The Devil thought perhaps that he could make a successful deal with the man, so he approached the man, smoothing his fur to ready himself for the exchange.

"We meet again, Saltbaker." Upon hearing the Devil's voice, Saltbaker turned around fast, pointing the knife towards the unwelcome visitor.

"How did you get down here?"

"You left the trap door open. Rookie mistake." The two men stared at each other waiting for someone to speak up.

"I see your desires. Your dreams and hopes. I can tell you really  want something, and I'm willing to give you it for a small trade."

"What's the catch?"

"The catch? Why, there is none!"

"Mhmm, sure. Don't act like I'm naive and stupid. I know who you are."

"Yeah, I told you my name. I'm not hiding anything from you."

"My point is that I know your intentions. I know what you do for a living."

"And I have no plans to harm you. Only help you. You see, I heard your struggles, and I can make you powerful. I ask for a small fee in return."

"What's the fee?"

"Your soul. A small thing really for all that I'm giving you."

"Figures. Well, then no. You can't have it."

"But I'll make you powerful!" The Devil pleaded. If he could just shake this man's hand and get his soul, his plan would be complete and he would be on top of the chart depicting the evilest people in all of the Inkwell Isles, otherwise known as the Monthly Chart of Evil, or MCoE for short.

Stickler talks too much.

"I already have a plan in place. I don't need you."

"Oh, really? What's your plan?"

"I've recently met up with a young ghost called the Legendary Chalice. She really, really wants to live again." Saltbaker said, emphasizing the last sentence with a dramatic "damsel in distress" like voice. "I have the recipe in my book and all I need are the ingredients. Unfortunately, said ingredients are held by the most fearsome of foes! But, no matter, all I need are some brats willing to help a poor ghost." Saltbaker ended with a chuckle, and the Devil got an idea.

"I think I know just the brats."
