Black Cat (A Wenclair Story)

Eugene finds out

11:45 am

It has been almost two months since Wednesday was turned into a cat and she is still trying to figure out a cure. Enid was doing some research paper at her desk. The cat played with a pencil on the desk. "Thing, what is  siren song?" Enid asked trying not to feel bored out of her mind. " The siren song from Greek Mythology, to lure sailors with their singing and sometimes their own voice." Thing signed before going back to typing on the typewriter.

2:15 pm

Enid was done with her homework for the day,Wednesday was aching for her attention. Enid smiled as she beckoned her kitty to come to her. The black cat climbed from the desk into her mistress's lap. The girl stroked the cat as she started purring immediately.

3:06 pm

Enid was painting Thing's nails when there is a knock at the door. "Oh Fuck.. Wednesday I don't know if you have time to hide it probably Eugene about the books...I'll be there in a minute." Enid called out in a panic.

She opened the door to Eugene standing there with his hands at his sides. " Hey, Enid I'm here for the vampires anatomy and gorgon history books." " Oh Right?... I totally forgot. Come in." She said as he walked into the dorm. 
He stopped in his tracks and made eye contact with a small black cat.

"Enid?"

"Who's cat is this?"

"Where is Wednesday?"

He asked confused as almost dropped the texted books on his feet.

"Wait!..Eugene. I can explain!" Enid said while trying to stop him from running out of the room.

Using all of her strength, Enid slammed him against the wall. " Okay...Okay I'll listen." He said trying to catch his breath.

3:27 pm

"Oh so that's why I haven't seen her since September." Eugene said trying to understand the situation. The cat arched her back and hissed at him. "So she accidentally got turned into a cat but, Ajax and Tyler wanted to poison her in order to get revenge on her for breaking up with you?" Eugene said trying to get the story straight. "But, they clearly used the wrong ingredients." Enid said as she walked to her desk chair sat down.

"She might really like you doesn't she...Enid?" Eugene asked flipping through the pages of the workbook. 

"Well yeah I'm the only one who really gets her." She said almost raising her voice. Soon enough, The cat stretched out her back and sprang up into her lap, kneading Enid's thighs to make herself comfortable. "I understand that because that is how bees are with their queen. They are 'attracted' to her and follow her every command." He said as the kitty arched her back against his hand before returning to Enid's lap. "Thing and I are trying to figure out an antidote... if you wanna join us?" Enid said she ran her hand through her cat's fur. " Of course...It's hive code." Eugene replied with an understanding of what she was talking about. 

4:05 pm

"Thanks again for the books. I will bring them back in about 3 days time." Eugene says stepping out of the dorm. "Sounds good Eugene, I will see you in 3 days." Enid says before shut the door behind her. "That was close." She says as the cat approaches her and begins to rub against her ankles to comfort her. "Good kitty. That's right, you're safe." Enid said picking the cat up into her arms and gently stroking her hand along her back.

"Purr Purr Purr"
