Stepping into my hotel room, I couldn't help but let out an annoyed chuckle. Those fools were getting on my nerves. This whole situation with the rogue issue was starting to grate on me, those troublesome animals causing chaos as usual. My brother was meant to be here with me, but I knew he wouldn't want anything to do with this pack.
I can't blame him, though. The Alpha here has no qualms about selling off unmated females to the Grand Order, his greed knows no bounds. If it wasn't for the innocent residents here, I wouldn't have bothered with them. How can anyone stand living in a place like this?
Thankfully, my work here is done after weeks of being stuck in this situation. I can't wait to go back home and see everyone. It's strange how excited my wolf is about going back, usually he never wanted to leave. He's a bit bipolar like that.
Even though it was only six in the evening, I decided I couldn't spend another day in this pack. The Alpha's sister was constantly hovering around me, like a persistent fly drawn to rotting meat. I may not be rotting, but that's the best way to describe how she clung to me.
Swiftly, I packed my belongings into the compact suitcase I had brought, ensuring that nothing was left behind. With a sigh, I hoisted the suitcase and departed from the bedroom.
Descending the stairs, I entered the living room to find my men patiently waiting for me. The sight of the Alpha's sister in the living room immediately tested my patience.
Her attire left little to the imagination, her tank top barely containing her assets and her skirt barely covering her rear. I couldn't help but question how she carried herself as a woman, her taste in fashion, character, and demeanor all lacking in refinement. Suppressing a growl, I handed my suitcase to one of my men.
"Leaving so soon? Why not wait until tomorrow morning?" she inquired, her words grating on my nerves. My wolf growled within me, echoing my irritation at her persistence.
I shot her a pointed look, silently asking if she possessed any sense. "We have urgent matters to attend to at my pack. Our departure cannot be delayed," I replied stoically, a white lie concealing my distaste for her misplaced advances.
"Oh, okay. Then why don't you guys at least have dinner before you leave? You've been on patrol all morning and didn't even have lunch," Cassy, or whatever her name was, pleaded with me as she attempted to conceal her obvious seduction behind pleading eyes.
My jaw clenched at her blatant attempt, the urge to physically remove her from the situation bubbling within me. However, I maintained my composure, responding in a curt tone, "We are not hungry, and Luna informed me that she prepared dinner for us."
A sense of helplessness and defeat washed over her, evident in her eyes, just as the Alpha made his way down the stairs. We exchanged pleasantries, with the Alpha expressing his gratitude for our visit and promising to reciprocate by visiting our pack in return. As we settled into our cars, his sister bid me farewell, to which I offered no response.
As our car began moving, I released a long sigh of relief, eliciting laughter from my companions. Nickolas shook his head in amusement, remarking, "You almost took her out when she suggested eating before leaving." The others stifled a chuckle at his observation, and I couldn't help but join in.
Asha, who was driving, added, "Seriously, that woman is a major turn-off for guys like us."
I nodded in agreement, "She's not just a turn-off, she's like an unwanted intruder in all the wrong places." Laughter filled the car as we continued our journey home, enveloped in a comfortable silence.
