Twelve

When she appeared at Foxfire's campus, she realized it was completely deserted. She walked to the gold tower and started looking for her room. When she finally found it, she licked the door and went inside. Fortunately, Biana was in there, but she was packing her things. "Biana? What's going on?!" Biana turned around. Her face lit up. "Sophie?!WHERE ON EARTH WHERE YOU?!!?!??!" "I got kidnapped again. That's what the meeting was." Biana had a weird look on her face. Joy, but grief. Confusion, but excitement. "Hah! Stina was wrong! It wasn't the council!! So who was it?" "The council." When Biana looked faint, she added, "You might want to sit down for this."

When Biana was all informed, Sophie asked, "Why is the entire school leaving?" "Magnet Leto disappeared." "Oh good! We need to find him and hide." Biana frowned. "You forgot to tell me that part."

"Who does 'your friends' include?" asked Biana. That stumped Sophie. "Huh. I don't know. I guess, you, Dex, Keefe, Lihn, Tam, Marella, Maruca-" "Iggy?" asked Biana hopefully. Sophie frowned. "I guess. But then we would have to run into Grady-" "No problem! I'll just vanish. He'll never know." Sophie sighed. "Okay, I guess. Let's hail everyone."

As Sophie picked up her imparter, she realized. "What about Fitz?" Biana shrugged. "I don't know. But I think we should take him, because look at it this way, the council would interrogate your friends, abilities or not." "True. But will the black swan even want Fitz?" "Sophie, they want to help. Of course they'll help us, Fitz included." Sophie sighed. "Your right. And we should tell them to meet us here." When Biana nodded, Sophie continued, "How should we divide up the hailing?" Biana smiled. "I'll take Tam and Linh, and of course, Fitz. Oh and I'll get Iggy. " Sophie tried to shrug off the hope of how much she wanted to hail Fitz. "Okay. And that leaves me to hail, Dex, Keefe, Marella and Maruca. Bye, come back soon and DON'T LET GRADY SEE YOU!!!"

As she picked up the imparter to hail Keefe, she felt a sudden surge of doubt. She suddenly really wished she was calling Fitz. Half to yell at him, and the other to- One ring. Two rings. Was she calling Fitz or Keefe? She couldn't remember. Three rings. "Hello?" She could barely look at the screen. Her boyfriend or her sort of friend? Keefe or Fitz? "Sophie!" Oh. It was Keefe. She was relieved and disappointed. "Hi Keefe." "Foster, what's wrong?" She flinched. "What makes you think somethings wrong?" Keefe groaned. "You're pulling your eyelashes! Of course something's wrong!" "Okay, okay. I was kidnapped by the council." "WHAT?!" When Sophie nodded, he exclaimed, "Those sparkly alicorn poop heads! Elwin said you were in the healing center but we couldn't visit you yet." Ro appeared in the background, and unleashed a lot of creative words, and then exclaimed, "I told you guys that the sparkle glasses guy was trouble! But did you listen? NO!! And then he let the council kidnap blondie!" "STOP!" shouted Sophie. "The council probably forced him." Keefe sighed. "Your probably right. He did look really worried when he told us. Now tell me what happened and why you called."

"Okay, let me get this straight. We need to deal with the forklenator, just because the council is threatening us? Yawn. Those guys wouldn't mess up a strand of hair, so doing something 'important'? Not for them." Sophie had to laugh. "I should go. You're not the only one on my calling list, you know." Keefe shrugged. "Bye!" As Sophie turned off her imparter, she realized something. Keefe was way better than Fitz. She hated herself for not realizing.
