P R O L O U G E
Benito had arrived back home to Puerto Rico for a few days. His long term girlfriend had no clue he would be back early , he wanted to surprise her. He missed her so much and just wanted to see her. Benito had changed for her believe it or not. He was loyal to her eyes , her lips , her everything.
He arrived at their shared home with a huge smile on his face. " Mi Amor! Llegue!" He shouted , his voice echoing through out the house. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as all he got back in response was silence. " Mami!" He called out once more , silence. Benito then realized her keys were gone so he assumed she was out. He relaxed a bit and decided he would wait to surprise her.
As Benito laid on the couch watching some basketball his phone began to go off. At first he ignored it but , then it just wouldn't stop. He picked up his phone and unlocked it. He couldn't believe what he was reading. His girlfriend was cheating on him and it was going viral. His fans were tagging him , they were mad, and he was furious. His heart shattered , he felt as if he had wasted his time. He had wasted years. Right on cue she walked in , her face pale as if she had just seen a ghost.
" Beni." She said surprised by his presence.
" Puedo explicar." She continued.
" No es necesario, llévate tus cosas. Yo pensé que éramos igual pero me equivoqué." Benito said firmly.
" Beni por favor." She pleaded
" No esto se acabó."
He watched and made sure she collected all of her things. She left without saying a word. Benito was a wreck and just like that he would have to show his face to the world. He felt dumb but , what could he do.
