Chapter 14

You can skip this chapter if you want because this chapter is just Tanjiro's pov of the last one. Since I felt It was important that I should also write how he felt in the last chapter.

Tanjiro pov

Just as Yoshikawa San was helping me up, I felt two people enter the room. It was the upper moon that Tomioka San and I had fought in the past. He was also the one who killed Rengoku San. So I unsheathed my katana and prepared to attack him.

"What's with you slayers trying to kill me, when I'm only trying to help?" He exclaimed grimly.

I was confused because of the remark he made. What was an upper moon doing here and why wasn't Yoshikawa San attacking? Was she helping him? She let out an exhausted sigh and started to explain what had happened. After she was done, I looked at the demon skeptically but decided to trust Yoshikawa San's words since I couldn't smell any lie.

I looked around to check who the second person was. My eyes caught the sight of a familiar Mohawk. That's when my brain registered the fact that Genya was alive. I pulled him into a big hug that he returned with small pats on my back.

"I'm sure Shinazugawa San would be happy to see you" I told, remembering all the times Shinazugawa San would talk about his little brother. Genya seemed to perk up at the mention of his brother.

"You think Aniki would be happy to see me?" He asked innocently like a little child, which I answered with an enthusiastic hum.

Then we all huddled together to plan. Upper moon 3 who was known as Akaza explained something things about the place. Our objective was to find the room of the second upper moon of this house since Akaza San's was destroyed.

Genya, Tamayo Sama and Akaza San left first that left me and Yoshikawa San alone. We first looked around the room for a bit more and moved to another after a bit.

The next room had many cracks on the wall with blood oozing out of it. But the cracks, it reminded me Zenitsu after he had returned from the war. He had small cracks on his face that Aoi and Kanao helped heal.

"You ok, Kamado San?" She asked, her voice laced with concern.

"Yeah, the pattern just reminds me of him" I whispered but she seemed to hear it.

"Him?" She asked, her face turning down in a frown.

"Zenitsu, you mentor" I replied, still not turning away from the cracks on the wall.

"You should give up on looking for him. He doesn't want to be found" I looked at her with confusion. Give up looking for him?

"Why doesn't he want to be found?" I asked again. She looked flabbergasted. She seemed like she wanted to answer but was debating whether she should or not. Hesitation filled her face.

"He had feelings for one of you guys, who I won't be mentioning. He felt that the person liked someone else. Unable to handle the feelings he had, he left, left like a coward that he is" She answered almost looking guilty. She seemed to be hiding something . The hesitation from earlier and the answer just now just made me suspect her. My question still remained though, could Yoshikawa San be Zenitsu.

Then my thoughts strayed to the context of what she had said. She said that he had feelings for someone and that's why he left. I felt a pang of jealousy inside me.

"Who...who does he have feelings for?" I asked,a bit embarrassed that my words were breaking

"I can't tell you" She answered back.

"Why" I asked, feeling that she was lying.

"Because I can't" she said as a matter of fact.

"Please" I said again, almost begging.

"Why do you want to know anyway?" She asked, snapping at me in anger. But all I could smell was fear. She was scared of telling me. But I didn't know why.

"Because I love him, okay. I've loved him ever since we fought together at entertainment district, years ago" I almost shouted, on the verge of lashing out in anger, leaving her stunned.

Nobody knew of this other than Nezuko. She had found that in her own, a week after he left. I was so distraught and hell bent on finding him that it was so obvious that I had a crush on him.

A minute of silence later she said "The one Zenitsu loved is you"

That caught me by surprise

"What!?"
