When presented with the depths of our despair, it becomes harder for us to welcome in the revitalising nature of light. For its mere essence can consume our souls into a softened spirit. Instead, our sorrows condemn us into believing that we don't deserve that light. That we must suffer and grieve into the darkness.

Allowing the pain and heartache to consume every corner of our being. We find this easier than simply living. Surrendering to that darkness as we fear we don't belong in the light.

But there can be comfort in the darkness. There can be solace within the sorrows. Humans are expected not to bear suffering and to disallow the feeling of pain, when instead we just have to embrace it.

Embrace the shroud of darkness squeezing your soul, because the light can only be welcomed if we make peace with ourselves. For by seeking solace in our sorrows, we are reminded of the resilience of the human spirit - our capacity to find comfort within the shadows.
