The effects of grief lingers as though it has scarred your soul. Burned it into crumbling pieces of ash. Shattered it into fragments of blackened woe.
How grief has the potential to transform a heart pure of gold, into that of an empty void of darkness. The aftermath is raw as well as ripe, almost suffocating those to be suffering insignificantly. Starving them of endearment and encapsulating them into solitary cells, stacked within walls of the heart.
Grief takes a toll on many. For some, short periods of time. For others, eternity. And for those in between, they're the ones grieving themselves. A part of them died along with the love and presence of their better half.
