Chapter 4

"Pam, come on Pammy Pam. So what they didn't meet us at the dock, and you haven't met the girl? But we're here now, can we please have a good time?" Sandra begged her.

"I don't care what y'all talking about, this is nice, getting picked up like this everyday" Malcolm told them.

So enough they reach the compound, "they've their own lake" Malcolm says looking around.

"Are you serious" Malcolm says seeing the house from a distance, "you guys look at that" Sandra says in awe.

"This is nice" Willie-Earl says, "it's like the Kennedy compound" Sandra says still in awe.

"That got to be an apartment complex" Malcolm says in  disbelief, "they got workers and everything" Willie-Earl says looking at the people outside raking the yard, "they got white people working" Sandra says.

"I bet they have five bathrooms" Malcolm comments, "come on y'all, calm down, now we have seen bigger houses than this" Pam says rolling her eyes.

"Where?" Kourtney and Malcolm questioned curiously.

"We haven't" Sandra says laughing, "Black folks own this? Nah, they dressing them different, they look rich" Malcolm says.

"Well does money make you more beautiful?" Sandra questioned curiously, "if you fat and unattractive, money certainly does help" Willie-Earl says as the car pulls up to the main house where Jason, Sabrina and her mother waits on them.

"Willie-Earl" Jason greeted, "What's J?" Willie-Earl says as he got out of the car and hugged Jason.

"Its good to see you" Jason says and went and open the back door for his mom.

Kourtney quickly exited and hugged Sabrina and her mom before her own mother could see.

"Welcome to the Vinyard mom" Jason says to Pam, "you sent a car to get your mother" Pam muttered to Jason who knew she would be upset.

"Only the best for you" he told her with a fake smile, "the best would've been for you to pick me up" She muttered to him, "love you too mom" he told her walking her over to Sabrina and her mom.

"Mom this is Sabrina" Jason introduced them, "oh hello" Pam says with a fake smile.

Sabrina smiled widely and fidgeted on spot before she threw herself onto Pam for a hug.

"Hi! It's so great to finally meeting you" Sabrina says who surprised Pam who felt irritated by her.

"Sorry, I didn't think that hand shake express the moment you know" Sabrina says pulling away from the hug.

Pam only fake laugh, "Am a hugger, I like to hug" Sabrina explains herself.

"I can see that" Pam comments, "Am Claudine Watson" Sabrina's mom introduced herself with a handshake to Pam.

"Pam Taylor" Pam says still sporting a fake smile, "We'll, may I say you certainly raised a wonderful man" Claudine says smiling at Jason.

"Well thank you, he is wonderful. Wish I could say the same about you and your daughter" Pam says.

It went silent, "awkward" Kourtney muttered beside Jason who pinched her to shut up.

"Oh! I said that that wrong way. I mean I wish I could've met her earlier before now" Pam says realizing how she sounded.

Jason laughs it off, "this my family, Kourtney my sister, this is Sandra, she's my mother's bestfriend" Jason says.

Kourtney just shakes her head at Jason cause they both know they know her, Sandra shakes their hands while smiling.

"My uncle Willie-Earl" Jason introduced, Willie-Earl kissed Claudine's hand unexpectedly, "rich and fine, fine like a glass of wine" Willie-Earl flirts, "and my cousin Malcolm" Jason says finishing off the introductions.

"Oh, I invited the two of them to stay here, I hope that's okay" Pam says pointing to Willie-Earl and Malcolm being that Malcolm and Kourtney would be taking part in the wedding.

It went silent as they looked at Claudine who was just smiling and totally zoned out.

"Mom" Sabrina says getting her mom's attention, "oh! Yes, we have enough room. Why don't we inside the house so you guys can be more comfortable" Claudine says smiling.

"You guys must be so thirsty huh? We have Bellinis, I hope you like Bellinis" Sabrina says as they all began to walk towards the house.

One of the maids greeted them with a tray of Bellinis which Kourtney was convinced was just another fancy word for orange juice, but it isn't.

"Bellinis for you mom" Jason says but Pam down right refused it, "Willie-Earl, Malcolm please have a seat and make yourself comfortable" Claudine says once everyone entered the living room.

"I made Jason a sweet potato pie, it's his favorite" Pam says smiling as she shows them the pie in her hand.

"Oh what a lovely gift" Claudine says, "no, no, she's famous all over Brooklyn for her pies" Jason says which cause Pam smile a real smile this time.

"Oh really, well we're gonna have to sever it tonight at the rehearsal dinner" Sabrina says about to take the pie from her.

"No, no, this is for Jason and his friends" Pam says pulling away from Sabrina.

Kourtney rolled her eyes at her mom as she drank another glass of Bellinis.

"It's just that my buddies always fight over her pies, she's a really really good cook" Jason says for an explanation for his mother's behavior.

"Aww, Mrs. Taylor you really gonna need to share your recipes with me, I hear that a way to a man's heart is through his stomach" Sabrina says.

This cause Jason to smile at her, "it's a family secret" Pam says annoyed which wiped the smile off Sabrina and Jason faces.

"Oh, wow, it's a good thing we're all gonna be family after tomorrow" Sabrina says trying to hide her hurt feelings.

"Where can I put this?" Pam asked talking about her pie, "you can shove it..-" Claudine was cut off by Mable (maid) "in the kitchen" she says as she took the pie and went back into the kitchen.

"Thank you Mable" Sabrina says to her as she left, "hello! "Ms. Taylor, you must be Jason's sister" Mr. Watson says, which cause Pam to laugh, "no am his mother" Pam told him.

"Jason, why have you kept this Jewel from us" Mr. Watson asked, "my apologies" Jason say smiling.

"I am so sorry you couldn't make it to lunch last month" Mr. Watson says which cause Kourtney eyes to widen as the cat is now out of the bag.
