Vera Targaryen was loved. That's one way to put it. She was loved by her father, her mother, her brother, her aunt, and sometimes (all the time) her uncles (yes, both of them). You see, Vera was also hated; she was hated by her step-grandmother, Alicent Hightower, and her step-great-grandfather, Otto Hightower, or, as Vera liked to call him, a cunt (courtesy of a certain family member). Ser Crispy Cream, sorry, Cristian Cole also seemed to hate the young girl (for no reason). But Vera didn't care whether she was loved or hated, as long as the people she cared for were happy.

Vera was considered lucky in Alicent's eyes. Vera was the oldest of Rhaenyra's children, the heir to the iron throne. She had white hair and looked like her mother, a true Targaryen. Alicent hated the young girl. What Alicent hated most about the young girl was that she didn't truly hate the girl.

When Rhaenyra had been told she had given birth to a girl, she was ecstatic. Yes, Rhaenyra loved all her kids the same; if she had a son first, then Rhaenyra wouldn't have an issue, but she didn't. She had a girl, a beautiful girl. When Rhaenyra saw Vera's smile for the first time, she swore that the smile was made out of pure sunshine and could only be described as pure joy for the young mother. Rhaenyra then swore to all of the gods listening that she would protect her child from the harsh world that surrounded them.

Vera Targaryen's was a name passed down through stories, many of which spoke her name with love. She was known as the Amethyst of Red Keep throughout her life (this was because in the years she lived in the walls of Red Keep, she was able to help keep peace between the two sides of her family). When Vera died, she was loved by more than just her parents.

But this isn't a happy story, no this is a story of loss, grief and some joy. This is the story of Vera Targaryen.

And how she started the war

I do not own the right to anything but Vera and her storyline.

AN// Thank you for clicking on my story, my idea behind this is my slight obsession with house of the dragon, this is kinda of a mixed team story, Vera is thrown in-between the two teams for certain reason.

So i hope you enjoy
