Elena was surprised she hadn't heard the black SUV driving up the driveway. She probably had been too focused with finding clues on how and why her dad died.
The book she intended to get was a photo book of her family. She had put it in the only bag she was able to put together when she had to leave, in the very bottom so no one would see it.

Both agents were standing in front of her, hands on their back and ready to leave. Elena had rolled her eyes when she passed them and walked over the path towards the waiting SUV. The sun had started to set this time around and she felt the warmth of it radiating from the car, her brain telling her to prepare for the warmth inside the vehicle.

The grind under her feet was all too familiar for the teenager as she mentally said goodbye to her childhood home. The few steps it took her to get to the car, were for some reason the most difficult once she had to take. Even her first steps as a baby felt easier.

Elena grabbed her a little tighter as she stopped in besides the car, waiting for one of the agents to open it. The male agent came her way, opening the car first before signaling her that she could enter. The sweat she felt as her hands took the handle was disgusting, but she tried to forget it and step in.

'How long?'

The streetlights passed at a fast pace as Elena looked out of the tinted window, her head resting on the glass. It had been several hours since the redheaded agent got behind the wheel and she, as all the teenagers normally do, had gotten so bored, she began to annoy the two other people.

'What do you mean?'

'How long until we arrive?' her eyes fixated on the little droplets falling on the outside of the window, it had started raining. Her body had placed itself over the length of the backseat while her head used the cold glass as a pillow.

But she didn't get any sleep.

Her mind was so clouded with thoughts that she simply couldn't close her eyes or she would go crazy. 'We have been driving for more than 4 hours, when do we stop for a minute?' diverting her eyes from the scene outside, Elena looked to the front of the car.

The female was too focused on the road ahead to answer, but Clint looked into the rear mirror, 'We'll stop in half an hour.' he promised her, a little grin escaping his otherwise emotionless face. She nodded and huffed, deciding that waiting 30 minutes was too long for her liking.

She sat up, placed her bag on her lap and opened the zipper. She had taken more things with her than only the photo book, a full bag of chocolate bars laying on top of it.

Her favorite sweater together with a pair of sunglasses and a charger, she had hid her diary there too, as well as the keys to her house.

You never know if she will return...
