Elena walked through the massive building and followed the signs leading her to what was supposed to be the cafeteria. She had yet to find a good cafe nearby, so the cafeteria of the organization was her only solution for the never ending hunger that ruled in her stomach.

The sign above one of the elevators told her to turn around the corner, and she was just about to do so, when someone called her out; 'Elena?'

Turning on her heels, she looked into the brown eyes of Clint, the agent who had brought her here. She rolled her own and hummed irritated. 'What?'

'The director has requested that you eat with him.'

'And my answer is no.' she really didn't want to talk with the strange minded man, so she turned around and jogged away, her hunger even more prominent now.

After turning around the corner, Elena was now met with a huge room filled with noises, people and danger.

Her mind made a turn around. As did her body and she walked back towards the elevators. She knew the agent would still be standing there, so she made no comment while she passed him and walked back to the exit. She was bound to leave anyway, why not leave now already?

Because her stuff was still inside.

Elena groaned, mentally scolding herself and walked further down the busy road. Scanning the streets, she tried to find a small shop.

The one with brown windows and plants hanging from the ceiling seemed like a good one and she stepped off the footpath onto the street. She made no intention to move once a car came speeding towards her, honking furiously. She just walked further, evened out her breath and trusted the process.

And as she thought, the car swerved aside inches before the hood would've touched her legs. She was crazy for sure, but she was mentally smart and knew people better than anyone would think.

Upon entering the small shop, she knew that she would come by more often. The cozy music playing from an old radio on top of the counter, the smell of freshly made coffee and the calm lighting hanging from the old wooden ceiling really made the canvas complete.

'Hello, good morning! Is there any way that I can help you today?'

Elena looked at the counter, where an eighteen year old girl smiled softly at her, brown eyes waiting patiently for an answer from her, 'Yes, a black coffee would be good, thank you.'

The girl nodded and turned around, disappearing in the back of the shop for some time. Elena took it as a chance to find a seat somewhere in the warm room. She seated herself in the back, it gave her a good view of the front of the shop, the doors in perfect sight.

It had started raining outside and she hummed, it really gave her a calm feeling inside, the coffee which was sat on her table a second later completing it altogether.

'Thanks', Elena smiled, looking down at the barista's nameplate, 'Thank you Jelena.'

Jelena smiled and gave her a little bow before turning around.
Elena herself turned towards the window on her left, the rain droplets hitting the glass ever so slightly, she enjoyed the moment.

The rustling of paper made her open her eyes again. The rain had stopped a few minutes ago and she looked around, wondering where the sound came from. It wasn't until a piece of paper touched her bare hand which was embracing the still hot cup, that her head turned downwards, coming eye to eye with the staring glare of the Secretary of Defence; Thaddeus Ross.

She had to admit she was a little surprised to see him in the newspaper -because that was what the paper was and opened it, bawling her eyes out on what she saw:

Multi-millionaire's inheritance goes to government

The Secretary was standing beside her house, her house!

Smiling like he just won the lottery, he had his arm around the shoulder of her dad's lawyer, Sam Smith. Elena's brain couldn't think reasonable anymore and she threw the paper away, stood up and left with a twenty dollar bill on the table. The nice barista deserved the extra tip.
