Without You - Part 7

In the middle of nowhere

Johnson: * driving * I thought you were smarter than your brother huh but you have to make it personal
Jason: it's always been personal, they killed my brother and now they're going to pay just like how Smurf and Andrew are going to pay for what they did to Julia
Johnson: * scoffs * well you think you're the only guy who lost someone I've had more friends bleed out in my arms in the middle of a damn sand box but I can count at least I know what I'm fighting for, real freedom
Jason: stop talking to me like I am some kid...I brought you in
Johnson: * grabs him by the collar * and I've taught you everything you little punk
Jason: * shoves him away *
Johnson: not just how to make bombs but how brings freedom find home, stay alive, live a fight for another day and not go straight against to take out the whole LVPD...you're just going to get us killed kid
Jason: I'm not afraid, the only thing I'm afraid is for Mallory's safety I'm trying not to get her hurt or worse killed
Johnson: oh really then remember when you told me about what happened to Julia huh
Jason: * clenches his jaw *

Flashback

Jason & Julia: * walks in the coffee shop *
Julia: our first night out in a year
Jason: yeah we deserve a break
Julia: * laughs * come on let's go order
Jason & Julia: * walks up to the counter *
Cashier: hey
Julia: hi
Cashier: what can I get started for you guys
Julia: umm can I get two regular size lattes but let's make one extra hot cause it's freezing outside
Cashier: I know, thank goodness we're inside right
Julia: seriously, did you want anything else
Jason: no thanks I'm good
Julia: okay
Cashier: and would you like your receipt
Julia: no I'm good thanks
Cashier: * smile's * alright we will have that right out for you
Julia: okay thank you
Jason & Julia: * moves over to the side *
Julia: it's so cold
Jason: don't worry I'll keep you warm enough once we get back home
Julia: really is that so, Jason McCann
Jason: oh it is so, Julia Cody
Julia: * moves closer to him and puts her head on his chest *
Jason: * kisses the top of her head *
Julia: * looks up at him and smile's*
Jason: * smile's back *
Robber: * walks up to the counter *
Cashier: hey what can I do for you today
Robber: * puts a bag on the counter * you can get started by putting all the money in the bag
Jason & Julia: * turns around *
Cashier: excuse me
Robber: * pulls out a gun and points at the cashier * I SAID PUT ALL THE MONEY IN THE BAG NOW!!!
Julia: * freezes in fear *
Jason: * moves away from the man with
the gun *
Robber: * points the gun to the opposite side of the room * no one moves and no one gets hurt
Julia: * whispers softly * oh my god
Jason: * moves back and knocks something off the counter *
Robber: * turns around and points the gun at him *
Jason: * closes his eyes tightly *

BANG!!!

Jason: * opens his eyes and see's Julia standing in front of him *
Julia: * falls slightly forward *
Jason: * catches her balance and pushes her forward a little to see her beautiful face * No Julia
Jason & Julia: * slowly falls on the
ground *
Jason: * pushes her over *
Julia: * lays on her back *
Robber: WHY'D SHE MOVE!!!
Jason: * grips onto Julia's shirt * HELP SOMEONE HELP ME, HELP!!!
Robber: * grabs the bag and runs out of the shop *
Julia: * gasping rapidly *
Jason: * sobbing softly * J-Julia s-stay with m-me...p-please
Julia: * tears rolling down *
Jason: I can't take your pain
Julia: * smile's weakly * it's because it doesn't hurt
Jason: * shakes his head * no
Julia: it's okay
Jason: no Julia
Julia: I-it's okay, it's okay, it's okay...it's perfect
Jason: * gets tears in his eyes *
Julia: I'm in the arms of my first love, the first person I've ever loved, the person I'll always love...I love-I love you...Jason...Jason McCann
Jason: Julia please don't...Julia don't please
Julia: you have to tell Mallory...you have to tell Mallory...tell her how much I loved her
Jason: I will...I will
Julia: * stops breathing *
Jason: * voice quivering * Julia...baby
Julia: * doesn't respond *
Jason: * pulls her close to his chest and cries even more * NO JULIA...NO PLEASE JULIA DON'T GO YET PLEASE GOD NO!!!
Julia: * let's her hand fall on the ground *

Jason: * looks over at Mallory *
Mallory: * sleeping in her car seat *
Jason: * smile's weakly *

All of the sudden a helicopter showed up and puts spikes on the road

" stop the car, stop the car "

Johnson: * loses control of  the van after driving it over the spikes and stops the van *
Jason: what are you doing, run it
Johnson: shut the hell up
Jason: * looks over at Mallory again *
Mallory: * still sleeping *
Jim: Johnson, McCann, get out of the car
Johnson: * looks at Jason *
Jason: * see's that there are a lot of cops surrounded by them *
Johnson: I'm not dying today
Jason: * pulls out a gun * don't quit on me
Johnson: * gulps a little *
Jim: throw your weapons over the window and step out of the car now
Johnson: got no choice look at all of those guns
Jason: shut up
Jim: you're surrounded, get out of the car
Jason: I'll give up but only to Stokes
Greg: don't even think about it
Stokes: yeah I'm right here so give up
Jason: I wanna talk to you
Stokes: we'll talk now get out of there
Johnson: Jase look at me, live to fight another day remember
Jason: * points the gun at him * get out
Johnson: I'm coming out * about to get out of the car *
Jason: and you'll see Mallory again once she's older but just not with me
Johnson: * looks at him *
Jason: my time is up
Johnson: Jason do you even know what you're saying right now man
Jason: * nods * I promised Julia that I would do anything to protect our little girl and I'm not breaking that promise to her
Johnson: * sighs heavily *
Jason: * smile's weakly * it's okay
Johnson: * gets out of the car and puts his hand up in the air *
Jim: put your hands on your head, turn around and get down on your knees
Johnson: * does what he's told to do *
Jim: McCann get out of the car, throw the weapon out
Jason: * goes over to Mallory and caresses her
head *
Mallory: * snuggles into his hand *
Jason: * puts a letter and a locket beside her and kisses her head one last time * goodbye my sweet baby girl, daddy and mommy will be watching over you
Mallory: * smile's in her sleep *
Jason: * throws his weapon out of the window and gets out of the car *
Jim: put your hands on your head, get on your knees
Jason: he's wired, he's got a bomb
Johnson: * quickly takes off his jacket * he's lying there's no bomb look don't shoot, don't shoot, don't shoot
Jason: * pulls out a gun from the side of the car door *
Johnson: * takes cover *
Jason: * shoots at one of the police officer *
Stokes: * shoots Jason multiple times *
Jason: * falls on the ground and dies *
Jim: hold your fire * walks towards Jason and checks his pulse *
Stokes: * looks down *
Police Officer: * see's Mallory sleeping in her car seat * hey I need someone over here now there's a child in the vehicle
Stokes: * quickly runs towards the car *
Police Officer: * unbuckles Mallory from the car seat and grabs her *
Stokes: here I'll take her
Police Officer: * gives her to Stokes *
Stokes: * gently grabs Mallory so that he won't wake her up * hey there little lady, you're a heavy sleeper aren't you
Mallory: * snuggles into his arms *
Stokes: * smile's a little *
Jim: hey Stokes you may wanna come over here and see this
Stokes: what is that
Jim: it's a letter from Jason...you might wanna read this
Stokes: * grabs the letter from him and starts reading it *

Dear Stokes,

If you're reading this letter you'll probably know that my time was up because of what I've done and I'm sorry for that, it's just that I was broken and it's not because of my brother, it was because of Julia. She was the love of my life and the mother of my daughter Mallory. It was hard being a single dad ever since she passed, I had help from Alex and Ralph but it wasn't enough for me. So for my daughters safety I decided to give you full custody of Mallory because I know she'll be safe with you and treat her like I did. Just promise me that you tell her every day how much her parents loved her and tell her that we're sorry for not being there seeing her grow up. If she wants to know who her parents were, I've made a video tape so that she can see who we were and looked like. I know you'll take care of my little girl no matter what Stokes, so don't let me down.

Jim: what is it, what did the letter say
Stokes: Jason McCann has given me full custody of Mallory
Jim: are you kidding me
Stokes: that's what it said
Jim: unbelievable he's actually giving you full custody of his daughter
Stokes: yeah
