Without You - Part 4

A month later

Mallory: * sitting on the floor in the living room playing with her toys *
Jason: * walks in * hey baby girl, what are you doing in here
Mallory: playing with my toys duh
Jason: * chuckles * okay
Mallory: daddy
Jason: yeah baby
Mallory: when is Uncle Alex gonna be home
Jason: uhhhh I don't know but he'll be back before you know it okay
Mallory: * nods and goes back to playing with her toys *
Jason: * sighs heavily *
Johnson: * walks in * hey guys
Jason: wassup man
Mallory: hi Uncle Johnson
Johnson: * smile's a little * hey kiddo
Mallory: hey Uncle Johnson do you know when Uncle Alex is gonna be home because daddy doesn't know
Johnson: ummm I think he's gonna be home soon okay, Mallory
Mallory: okay
Jason: hey Johnson can I talk to you for a minute in the kitchen
Johnson: yeah sure buddy
Jason & Johnson: * goes to the kitchen *
Jason: did you get everything ready for tomorrow for Stokes
Johnson: yeah I got everything ready
Jason: okay then
Johnson: she doesn't know about Alex yet
Jason: * shakes his head * you know I can't tell her about what happened to Alex
Johnson: she's gonna know at some point, it's been a month
Jason: I know but right now it's just not the time
Johnson: that's understandable
Jason: * sighs * yeah it is
Mallory: * starts singing a lullaby to her toys *
Jason & Johnson: * hears Mallory singing *
Johnson: is it just me or is Mallory singing
Jason: * chuckles * yeah she is

Flashback

Julia: * in her room listening to music *
Jason: * knocks on her window *
Julia: * removes her headphones * what in the world
Jason: * smirks *
Julia: * opens her window * Jason what are you doing here
Jason: just wanted to see your pretty face
Julia: * laughs a little *
Jason & Julia: * sits down on the bed *
Jason: nice room you have
Julia: thanks, my mom helped me
Jason: * see's a music box next to her bed on top of her nightstand * is that a music box you have there
Julia: oh yeah I got it for Christmas, I usually play the music box when I sing
Jason: you sing
Julia: * nods softly * yeah
Jason: well let me hear you then
Julia: I don't know
Jason: go ahead I won't judge
Julia: * turns on her music box *

Music box starts playing...

Julia: it's so enchanting
I'm trapped and drowning
Here for everyone to see
They don't notice
How far away I am
From everyone and everything
Silly to have gambled
With my heart out on the line
I guess that's just the way it goes
But I'm holding on
I know a day will come
When I can be myself again
And I hope someone will love me
When This Story Ends
Jason: * looks at her in awe *
Julia: round in circles, pointless wandering
And the crowd lines up again
" give a smile, girl!
You make them happy "
" bring your parents, bring a friend "
Silly that a main attraction
Would long so much for love
I guess that's just the way it goes
But I'm holding on
I know a day will come
When I can be myself again
And I hope someone will love me
When This Story Ends
If someone could,
Someone right for me
Finds a way to take me home again
I believe it
One day I'll be home
Jason: * gets tears in his eyes *
Julia: still I'm searching
Round in circles
But the crowd lines up again
Jason: t-that w-was b-beautiful
Julia: * smile's a little * thank you
Jason: * puts his hand on her cheek *
Julia: * looks at him *
Jason: * leans in *
Julia: * leans in as well *
Jason: * kisses her *
Julia: * kisses back *
Jason: * pulls away * whoa
Julia: * smile's* yeah
Jason: want me to do that again
Julia: * nods * yes of course
Jason: * smile's and kisses her *
Julia: * kisses back *
——————————————————————

Jason: I've never heard Mallory sing before
Johnson: I wonder where she got it from
Jason: she uhhh got it from Julia...her mother
Johnson: oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to—
Jason: it's fine don't worry * walks away *

The next day

Stokes: * hears his phone ringing and answers it while grabbing the mail * Stokes
Jason: you said you wanted to be my friend
Stokes: yeah who's this
Jason: you said you wouldn't let the cops kill my brother and then you empty your gun into him
Stokes: Jason McCann
Jason: I should just let you die, like you did Alex
Stokes: * see's writing on his fence and gets suspicious * how did you get my number
Jason: wait they're coming I gotta go whatever you do, don't come home * hangs up *
Stokes:
