I woke up to the sound of someone banging on my door. It was 6:30 am. Who could that possibly be. When I openedthe door, looking like a total mess, I saw Phillip waiting outside.

"Good Morning, Pip."

"Morning, Frances. Can we meet up in the park later, I need to speak with you."

"Sure Phillip. See you later."

"See you."

And with that he was gone. 'That boy is going to be the death of himself one day' I thought while getting myself ready. As I was washing my face, I thought of the essays I had written yesterday. They were not enough, that was clear. But I had to try it. For the people. For me. For dad.

I was at the entrance of the park, when someone called my name. I turned around to see a man, I had never seen before.

"Miss Laurens, let me introuduce myself. Thomas Jefferson." He took my hand and planted a kiss on it. Interesting. I did not realise that I was living in the fifteenth century.

"You know Phillp Hamilton, right?"

"Yes, I do. Why? Oh, and you can let go of my hand now."

"Oh, pardon me. Well if you see him, please hand him these."

Jefferson handed me a few papers. I read the headline: The Reynolds Pamphlet. Hell no! I was not going to hand Pip these papers. He just came back from boarding school, and I was not going to hurt him like that. I gave the papers back to Jefferson, who looked confused. He tried to say something, but I cut him off.

"Phillip is my friend, I am not going to hurt him like that, Sir. I can imagine that you are not afond of Hamilton Sr. , but I will spare his son as long as possible. Have a good day, Sir."

With that I turned around and went in the park. I didn't like that Jefferson. He reminded me a bit of George Eacker. An idiot, if you want to say so. I looked around and spotted Pip under a tree.

"Hi, Pip"

"Hey Frances. So I wanted to talk to you, because I asked Theo out and I don't know what to do."

"You could go on a walk with her or you could organize a picnic, maybe near the river or so?"

"I like the second option. But I'm so frickin nervous."

"Oh, that's normal. It will get easier, I guarantee you.

"Thank you for your help. I need to go now. See you around."

"See you around, Pip."

I hope you like the new chapter.
